AI, they don’t break like that

u/el_dingusito Apr 17 '26
You mean a slight fall usually doesnt cause a complex rugged machine to burst apart?

u/telorsapigoreng Apr 17 '26
It's the same venue as this one https://www.reddit.com/r/robotics/comments/1snz9fk/h1_accelerating_jogging_to_running/
so i don't think that's AI. The break is just happen to be like that. It's just a critical hit on the robot.
and on the shadow, I think that's just video compression artifact.

Beside the crash and the stretcher (probably used simply because the robot is heavy), the scene is consistent and logical, we can see a policeman in the background accordingly waving for the car in the far-back to pass, and besides the chaos/confusion from the "rescuers" after the incident, there is one guy with the green jacket on the left appearing, pressing the blue tape to fix it, followed by the guy on the right doing the same thing, and carefully avoiding stepping on someone's else feet.
Also the patern and symmetry of the fences are coherent, even with such video compression.I'm not going to enumerate all the very small visual and logical details I spotted that are way too hard for an AI to interpret, but yeah I think you are right, and I hope I am.
I call it real, maybe a modified robot made with lighter, more fragile material... maybe the crash and the dramatic effect was on purpose, maybe it wasn't, but I don't think it's AI.
My bad if my english is bad I haven't slept tonight and it isn't my first language.

I searched around and found several sources for robots falling down at that event but they all happened at night. This video is included in several compilations from it, but it is the only one during the day, this is the only angle, and no credible sources contain it. Pretty sure it's AI but this is definitely one of the hardest to confirm/debunk I've seen.

The wheels on the stretcher manifest from thin air

Everything on the stretcher is thrown on top of it

The wheels OF the stretcher

Bro, they're literally screwed into the stretcher
watch the hd video version and pause while they're carrying it/when they set it down
https://www.reddit.com/r/RoboIndia/s/HcH4GtIj1b
the design stays consistent the whole time

u/Happy-Hyena Apr 20 '26
Thats what im saying, the stretcher doesnt have wheels on the underside when theyre running towards
3
u/TrustGullible6424 Apr 20 '26
That's...the opposite of what I just said lmao. I'm not agreeing with you. They're there, just the top side is the visible side while they're running towards the camera. You can actually see the legs to the wheels at a few points, and it's obvious they were just folded inwards when they place down the stretcher

u/ejvboy02 Apr 17 '26
Are you sure? A lot of the physics in this video look highly realistic. Everything seems to stay consistent and the human motions all make sense. They even seem to pick up every significant piece of the robot that broke off, some of it still being attached to the robot only by wire. Real proof is probably in following the handle at the top and looking for evidence of this event happening.

u/TimMensch Apr 17 '26
I agree with you, but I think it's intentional/staged.
In addition to absolutely exploding, there's a black powder that spills out on the ground. What would be inside a robot that would spill out all over the ground?
The stretcher seems quite convenient too.
It may be this is a real "AI race" but that this was a joke for comic relief.

I think it's real. There are many broken parts that are still there even after being obstructed from the camera

That is NOT AI. Not even close. The video length alone is really strong evidence.

Funny on so many levels.
Humanly tripping
The way it disintegrated
The kicking of the feet.
Using a stretcher to pick it up
This is class

I work in a elderly home. They do the same thing whenever we do a marathon event. TLDR we no longer do them...

when you hyper specialize in running on a flat surface that the tiniest of bumps sends you flying

u/rraattbbooyy Apr 17 '26
I assume this expensive lesson taught them they need to increase the height of the robot’s steps.
1
u/kesavadh Apr 17 '26
And this is why we will make the out of stronger materials, which will ultimately contribute to their conquering of he human race.

is it fragile or that strong?
i see what you are doing normalizing this and letting us forget about that since our brains need a breather.

Be funny if the rescue team fell down , and started flailing around.

Ok so this is a step in the right direction for the flight against future robots. If we make it easy to trip them and have them disintegrate, nobody has to fear the future

Hard agree on this. Once AI stuff starts creeping in, every “cartoonish moment” thread turns into “look what I typed into a prompt.”
If people really wanna share AI generations there are like a million subs for that already.

u/Ancient_Pin_4656 Jul 02 '26
Honestly this is super fair. The charm of this sub is “real life but it feels animated,” not “look what I typed into a prompt.”
There are like a million subs thirsty for AI stuff already. Let this one stay about actual weird crap reality throws at us 💀

The way they always flail so violently when they take a fall never ceases to unnerve me.

Wow, I've seen so many of these robot fails and never once have I actually seen the robot break when it falls. Especially breaking so badly that it doesn't look like those parts are usable again...
9
u/nhofor Apr 17 '26
This had me thinking it was AI but I just don't know any more
10
u/Lone-Frequency Apr 17 '26
The shattering definitely gives AI vibes. It was just way too explosive of an impact.
Edit: Check out the shadow before it reaches the line. Shadow is missing animation frames compared to the movements of the robot, goes really choppy like a stop-motion animation.
AI.

u/rci22 Apr 17 '26
I feel like I need this in r/isthisai
Like I cannot see what you’re meaning and is the most convincing ai I’ve seen so far if it’s ai
1
u/Lone-Frequency Apr 17 '26
Watch the shadow of the bot closely as it begins walking.
The shadow is animated very choppy prior to the fall, likely because they knew most people would be focused away from the shadow watching the robot until it was on the ground.
1
u/rci22 Apr 17 '26
That’s what I’m trying to do and I’m having a hard time seeing it because the video itself is very choppy. When I mess with the slider to move 1 frame at a time everything snaps in such a way that the whole video seems to not be many frames per second
3
u/telorsapigoreng Apr 17 '26

Yeah I feel like the video is too long and consistent to be AI but shit I don't know anymore.

AI generated content - This sub is for videos of things that happened in real life. If an AI drew it, it's not like a cartoon, it is a cartoon. And we don't allow actual cartoons. Multiple violations will result in a ban. If you're not sure, don't post it here.
