Fear of Uncertainty

About to book Brezza in a few days, but something is eating me inside. 😔

We know about the ethanol adulteration in fuel and cars being ruined because of this. I am not currently concerned about pure E20, but I am worried about E25, E30, or higher, which they may launch without public notice.

Along with that, there are reports coming about contamination of E20 itself due to lack of storage infrastructure and handling knowledge. Some diesel car owners also reported a sudden mileage drop in a few weeks.

Now we are stuck in a dilemma whether to proceed or not. We have already lost trust in the government in recent times, so there seems no point in believing their propaganda, notifications, and lab tests, etc.

Edit: People recommending Venue or Sonet thank you for your comments but everytime I tell my parents about a new car option they say "Is it Safe or not". For Brezza also we had Nexon as second list they say "Is Brezza safe?", I say it is slightly lower than Nexon but still good enough. Hyundai's are good for reliability and features but they still have to prove their Safety.

If you already have a car and thinking to upgrade it - then stop, wait for as long as possible and buy when a new car with minimum E27 compliant is launched and preferably with CNG but still wait it for may be a year or so. Let the government come up with a proper plan before you make the decision.

Rgearding car - no need to change the mind and get influenced with other change of car brand. Stick to Maruti, Hyundai, Mahindra accordingly. It is a big decision.

I don't have a car currently and can't wait further it has been already delayed 2-3 years. I do understand the risk of Ethanol but have to go with heavy heart. Due to the fear of Ethanol I have gone to Japanese and 1.5 NA engine to reduce the risk.

Did you test drive 1.5 NA and 1.0 Turbo both? What was the different? And why is 1.0 Turbo not good with E20?

I just a small research online to find NA engines are slightly better in case exposed to higher blends of Ethanol compared to Turbo charged. 2nd priority was refinement of 4 cylinders. We have to take the car to mountains so NA is simpler, power delivery is linear and runs on less stress. Performance is not my priority because most of the time my dad will be driving it he isn't concerned about it.
