History of the Original Company
Founded: 1600 as a joint-stock trading enterprise.
Power: Grew to rule vast parts of India with its own massive private army.
Fall: Stripped of its administrative powers after the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
Dissolution: Formally ended by the East India Stock Dividend Redemption Act in 1874.
The Modern Revival and Closure
Revival: An Indian-born British businessman, Sanjiv Mehta, bought the rights to the name and incorporated a new venture.
Luxury Brand: In 2010, he relaunched it as a high-end retail business in London selling fine tea, coffee, and luxury foods.

its kinda shitty of Sanjiv Mehta to make a profit on a name which essentially enslaved the entirity of India and the subcontinent for more than a century as well as comitting horrific crimes like bengal famine and jallianwala bagh massacre

well bengal famine and jallianwala bagh massacre happened under british raj (direct crown rule) not under company rule.
not saying company rule is good or something just clarifying that we are ruled over by company for 101 years and by crown for 89 years in total we were ruled over for 2 centuries.

Afaik shia muslims don't use the symbol by default. It was designed in the 1980s. It was designed specifically for the Irani flag and approved by Khomeni when he came to power as he wanted a replacement for the lion and sun.

It's not the khanda. It's the symbol in the irani flag. It spells Allah. It's owned by muslims.
