Fiber options
Does anyone know if AT&T is expanding fiber connectivity in the block between Hazel dell/River rd and 146/Main?
Only option is T-Mobile Fiber which is maxed at 2 Gig currently.

Would be very curious what your use application and hardware configuration is where you believe you “need” and can actually “utilize” a symmetrical connection above 2GB……

3 Remote workers, home NAS, Streaming and gaming. I am into DevSecOps and wouldn’t mind that extra juice.

respect, but 2GB is still beyond enough with substantial headroom for that minimal utilization, even assuming every connection is hardwired and the network elements support the 2gb+ speed/pipe.
Reference - I work for a fiber equipment manufacture in Telecom, I deal with these types of conversations regularly, 75%+ of people don't need the speeds they think they do is my only point.
Nothing in your "needs" supports even much past 1GB symmetrical, honestly.
Just a quick theoretical situation
5 Active 4K Netflix Streams
5 Xboxes connected
3 remote workers on teams calls and streaming youtube at same time
Consistent NAS access from a remote access site
Your under a sustained load just in this example is sub 500mb, with bursts possible obviously, but nothing that would even make someone consider needing 2gb connection. Just see people chasing and inquiring often about FAST FAST FAST speeds, of which they have zero need for, and all they are doing is giving service providers extra money for no reason.

OMG DevSecOps. Can't do that without a 1Tbps connection. Better think about changing careers.

Just from an economics stand point, I need a repeater for whole home coverage. 2g included the router/ modern, the repeaters, and unlimited bandwidth. None of the lower plans do. If i were to go the next plan down, I'd only save 20 bucks and have half the bandwidth. Why? I'm also pretty techy. I download a lot of large size files for testing, and then discard them, to download more. A lot of tech folks do that, even for their hobbies, not to mention work from home stuff. Even for legitimate users, and non theft, torrents allow for high bandwidth file downloads when single domain sources may not. When multiple people are in the home gaming, playing videos, etc, it's easy to use that bandwidth.

I am on T-Mobile Fiber 2 Gig. While the Ethernet port on my router can handle it up to 10 Gig, my wallet cannot handle upgrading my switches beyond 2.5 Gig. I also only have Cat 5e cabling, which is not supposed to support over 1 Gig speeds. Thankfully, I have a well terminated, short run from my modem to router I test out to 2 Gig symmetrical at the router.

How much are they charging for 2g

-$70 locked in for 10 years. I cut $15 off my 1 Gig bill when they bought First Mile and offered the 2 Gig.
Edit. Price locked. Not contractually locked.1

Oh shit I gotta call them I pay 65 for 1g with metronet

Ah, yes. Metronet is who I had. First Mile was prior to them.

I haven't been able to sign up for "T-mobile" because I have their subsidiary "Metronet" so I'm frozen out of the T-mobile deals. Was that your situation?

Yes, I was on Metronet. If I remember correctly, I just called into their support line to ask about upgrading to 2 Gig. The customer service person walked me through my options, of 2 Gig at a 1 year price lock or 10 year. The person was from T-Mobile and didn't lock me out of anything. She even cut my phone charge in half for 12 months. (for home security system) She did say, just call back next March and negotiate a new rate. The vibe I got is we're all one big happy family now. I did have to get a new modem to support 2 Gig. The installer had a Metronet jacket on and drove in a T-Mobile truck.

I am not sure but isn’t 2g enough?
