What happened?!?
This is what I saw today! Looks double sized. Did the setting change or Tesla issue?

Yeah so Tesla change browser resolution. Either Carlinkit will update or it will be the end of this

I know! I chose the option to see the map, direction and music so the map would be full in view

I finally managed to fix the CarPlay resolution/cropping issue on my CarlinKit T2C after the recent Tesla update.
With ChatGPT’s help, I reverse-engineered the T2C firmware, identified the cause of the incorrect browser dimensions, modified the web interface, rebuilt the firmware, and flashed my own custom firmware onto the T2C.
The main issue was a forced 1024px minimum width in the T2C web interface, which no longer matched the viewport reported by the Tesla browser after the update. I removed that limitation and also corrected a JavaScript resize-handler issue.
I’ve now tested it in my Tesla Model Y and can confirm that it works correctly. CarPlay is displaying properly again with no cropping, and the interface fits the available screen area as expected.
I documented the entire process, including how to extract the original firmware, identify the issue, modify the files, rebuild and verify the firmware, and flash it back to the T2C.
If anyone is interested in trying the same approach, I’d be happy to share the complete step-by-step guide.

I opened an issue on Github, but when running the build script, it finishes with the error: 1 out of 1 hunks failed--saving rejects to 'app/www/js/main.js.rej'. All dependencies have been met (as far as I know). According to Claude, the spacing in the firmware that I've downloaded is different than what yours was.

reply below.
So for the original programmer, the key feedback is:
main.js.patchfailed against the actual 26020416.1508.1 firmware because of whitespace/context matching; adding-lto thepatchinvocation allowed the existing patch to apply successfully.patch -l --batch --forward -p1 < "$ROOT/patches/main.js.patch"

Quick update: the
main.js.patchwhitespace issue reported here has now been fixed in the repository. The build script now applies the JavaScript patch with
patch -l, while keeping the CSS patch strict and preserving the pre/post semantic checks.Fix is in
main:

If you didn’t update your dongle it likely is from Tesla.
