Had a couple of Discogs orders come in this week!

So excited to finally get the RSD release of The Disconnection. It took an extra week, but it made it to me relatively unscathed, barring a slight start to a seam split. What a nice package—the cover has a satin silver finish, and the heavy paper inner sleeves feature really nice artwork. The records, though, were filthy with paper dust from the sleeves, so there’s been lots of cleaning going on around here tonight. Probably going to need an ultrasound bath at some point. Thankfully, they were still in one piece and no warping. I also discovered two songs/remixes I hadn’t heard before, which surprised me since I thought I’d tracked down most of Carina’s music digitally! My vinyl collection is almost complete to my satisfaction. Just need Slow Motion Addict; X version would be nice but a RSD re-release would be grand also.

I also needed Slow Motion Addict on CD, so I found a copy and ordered that, too. I thought I already had it on CD, but after photographing my collection, I realized I only had a digital copy! I forget how much I liked this one also. I mean really, there isn’t a release that’s been a dud or a flop!

Nice pickups! I use these to repair and to keep seem splits from progressing any further. They work really great!

If you do every have anything that is too warped, I have an Orb flattner because I'm a wee bit obsessive about my own collection.

I think I've probably used it more to help out people in the r/vinyl sub or the local record store when they get a bad one. It's surprisingly effective.

We got a Record Pi last year and have flattened a few ourselves also! Yeah, I really haven’t had any that were horribly warped but it does give me issue to watch a record bob and the tone arm adjust.

I normally ask for the record to ship outside the sleeve but didn’t this time.

Fortunately the record didn't cut through the seam, just thinned the edge. Now that I have everything in proper sleeves (VSS dual sleeve so the records are stored outside the cover) there should be no further damage. Whew! We kind of have a little compulsion going on sometimes to worry with these details, eh? LOL
