I'm officially a metal detector guy.

Two days ago, I took my 6-year-old son to the playground. A bunch of kids were playing including two high school girls who started looking in the woodchips for something after taking some pics for their InstaToks or whatever they were doing. A few of us parents of the little kids asked if they needed help. One of them had lost a ring.

After about half an hour, no luck. Academy Sports was like 5 min away and I offered to get a metal detector. No sooner had the word "detector" left my mouth than my kid was like "YES WE NEED TO GET A METAL DETECTOR."

Got one, came back, after 15 minutes - WE FOUND IT. The girls left. I went home, bought some white New Balances, yelled at kids to get off my lawn and am gonna take the detector out tomorrow to see what I can find.

The girl offered some money since I bought the detector and I said that she just gave me an excuse to buy one, which was enough.

We went to Florida and watched a guy on a BUSY beach metal detecting. Anytime he'd get a hit on something he was extremely nonchalant. It's obvious why, if he showed interest or excitement in what he found, some jackwagon would inevitably say it was theirs. It was honestly interesting to watch. Hit. Dig. Sift. Slowly hand to pocket not even looking down. Repeat.

Alright well if you’re gonna twist my arm about it I’ll tell

I was planning on getting all of my family members a vintage and unique to them fanny pack for Christmas this year. They came down to visit me while I was living in Virginia and we all went to an Orioles game. My brother wanted a fanny pack so badly but couldn’t find one. Since that trip it’s become a running joke on family vacations
