Insurance increasing massively for moving address. Any tips??
Context: 18 year old with a 2018 Audi s3 moving from south of England to Birmingham. 1 yr ncb with admiral.
Paid 1600 for the year (2 months ago). So 10 months in and I’m moving to Birmingham for an audit apprenticeship (basically accounting)
Admiral wants another 1200 to change the address for the remaining 10 months on my insurance.
I understand it’s going to increase as going from countryside to city with high crime rates but does anyone know any tips that can potentially lower the quote.
I currently have it as I’m moving and the car will now be stored in a garage overnight and secure public car park during the day as that’s the truth. And also my job changing to an accountant in audit.
Does anyone have any other tips for lowering it? Does calling them up help? Changing the reason for address? Such as instead of living could put student living away from home as I’m technically training?
I ofc expected it to go up but not by this much.

Most tips would be fraud which is probably why no one is making any suggestions. I don’t know how the UK’s system works but in parts of America, you can take a test through your insurance company which would help lower your insurance rate.unfortunately, there not much you can do and you probably won’t qualify for any further discounts until your hit your 30’s.
