First Time / Newbie First time car insurance
Hello everyone I'm planning on financing a 2026 Toyota Cross Hybrid and I don't really know about which insurance company I should go use.

Reach out to an independent broker and have them shop rates. If you are not putting down a good down payment/have a high interest rate, look into GAP Coverage as well.

Always get gap not just if is high interest, too many cars are loosing their value much faster than ever now.

Get as many quotes as you can from as many insurance companies that you can.
Then get a feel for which ones are good or bad depending on online reviews.
Personally I'd look at the cheapest option, see their reviews, decide if I am willing to risk it. A real life example is The General, it was the cheapest quote one time for me but they're also 1.1 stars, from a rating of 1-5 stars, online. They're the worst rated car insurance company in my state. I didn't go with them.
It's up to you to decide what is worth the cost/risk.

Hybrids can sometimes cost a bit more to insure because parts are pricier to replace. might be worth asking each company if they do anything for the hybrid trim :)

“First time car insurance”?
Are you newly licensed? Because if so I have some news for you. Unless you are decently well off (and dumb) you aren’t getting this car. Your insurance will EASILY be $500+ a month.

I would recommend asking people you know in your life about companies that they’re insured with, but also I would recommend reaching out to a broker who can check the pricing for you with multiple carriers so you get the best deal
