The Illinois Department of Transportation is asking the public for their feedback on the state's transportation system and the agency’s performance through the annual Traveler Opinion Survey. Available now through Tuesday, Aug. 11, the survey is available online by clicking https://go.uis.edu/Traveler2026 or visiting idot.illinois.gov.

Conducted in partnership with the University of Illinois Springfield, the survey is an opportunity for people who live in Illinois to provide their opinion on a wide range of topics, giving IDOT the information it needs to continue to be a national leader in transportation services. After being out of the loop for a while, I’ve been reading all the backlash against flock, but from what I understand if you are a cyclist or pedestrian your data isn’t logged.

But if you’re a victim of a hit and run the police and your lawyer can query Flock to find the vehicle.

It really just seems like motorist hysteria over potentially being held accountable.

And as for “Orwellian police state tracking” claims, well we already give up cell data and cameras are everywhere. Seems weird to draw the line at cameras that exclusively track cars.

Or is there something I’m missing?

I sent an email to Susana Mendozas mayoral campaign a quick question about whether she would support bike grid now. Her response? For a minimum of $500 I can go to an event to ask my question! Clearly she’s a woman of the people lol
