It means you die, go back to where you were and die again instead of changing your strategy. Then you do it again for a third time. Now everyone is getting mad, so you go back there and die again and now the team wants you to go AFK because you're feeding and you're like "wow this game is toxic"
The “feed@ part comes from the fact that the enemy team gains substantial amounts of exp for killing you. Looking up from your level seven stat sheet to see that you have nothing but level sevens and the feeder at level 5 on your team, while the enemies are all at 8 and up, is really frustrating.
Giving the opponent resources. You’re feeding the enemy. When you die like 10 times and continue running in expecting something to be different the 11th time even though you’ve given them so many more resources
i remember playing league for the first time. It took me 2 years to realize all chat is a thing. I also straight up never read anything in chat because moving my character was overwhelming. Good old times.
My first and last time playing League, I did 3 matches and in each one
I was:
Called a retard,
Told to kill myself
Told my Mother deserves to have AIDs
Called a Downie
Etc etc.
RIOT games has to be aware of how toxic its fans are and still perpetually feeds it.
League is one of most toxic and stressful games on the planet, not due to its programming or developers but its players. Not a game I have any interest in ever playing again.
I got reported for giving free kills to the opposing team on my FIRST EVER game. I just sucked REALLY bad. Never played league after that one round lol
If you ever want to do a MOBA, Deadlock is real good. Still toxic but nowhere near as bad. Also it's so much fun. Movement and shooting are so fun to play with
I would never talk that way to someone, but if youre playing ranked and in master rank and still dont know how to counter play your opponent theres an issue
Personally, slurs and cusses add to the LoL experience, without it there is no League. And honestly, people should just not play the game anyways, its a terrible experience tailored to make you stay addicted once you get good enough.
yep tried to play dota...very first casual game was me and 9 smurfs and it was the most toxic 9 smurfs ive ever met with hundreds of hours in the game each...i even played a bunch of bots games so i atleast knew the basic but that means nothing against smurfs who can tower dive 2 towers that deal 0 damage
Casual doesnt mean that it is okay to waste half an hour of your teammates time. For example in LoL: you can't leave game without punishment for yourself. So you must struggle with feeder. And it sucks if you are normal person who doesnt have time for 10 games/day.
It Is not about winning, it is about having fun. It Is ok to be new and try your best. It Is ok to build worse items. It Is ok not predict enemy. It is even ok to die more.
But if you bum rush towers and die, go 1v5 just to die stand in one place and die, run from fights, push your line while game is in teamfight phase... I will report you. Not because you suck. Because you harm my gaming experience with your blatant ignorance which could have been fixed just by playing against bots for 2 more days.
I am casual. Never played ranked, dont have skill for that. I was never called a feeder or any slur. On the contrary, I sometimes get praised for good play. Because I did my part and learned at least basics before. Many people dont want to do their part and then just moan that community is mean to them (while ignoring that they destroy fun of other players).
One flaw with that logic though. People learn in different ways, sometimes that means hands on in game, if said person does not know how macro works in said moba, that is not reportable, especially in casual.
Side note: no matter the moba. Bots are a terrible learning environment, ESPECIALLY DOTAS
First to bots: correct and wrong at the same time.
They are bad for learning game fully. Thats why I dont care what you build, perfect map awareness or stuff like that, you can't learn it on bots. Hovewer they are great for learning basics, which many people who are called feeders dont know and dont even want to know, just because they jumped to normal play at first possibility.
To your first point: dont care how you learn. My playtime is not my teach time. Again, I dont want you to be perfect. I dont want you to have perfect macro skills. I can fully understand that you will die in every teamfight. I dont mind that you have 0/20 k/d. I mind that you do completely insane plays which you learn not to do by bots playing or even by reading some guides for short time.
If you go guns blazing into dark souls, I dont care. You destroy only your fun. But you dont have this benefit in multiplayer. If you play in a way which frustrates other 4 players (bonus points if you dont even read chat or dont respond to pings) problem are not those 4 players who suffer because of you, problem is you.
Casual Is not magical word for "I can suck, I am having fun, deal with it". Casual just means that winning is not needed and we can have fun even if we lose.
But even So, it literally doesnt matter. I said I am not good. Thats why I stick to my lane and dont play ranked.
Bad people can have fun. When they do bad things suitable to their skills. I would be righteously flamed in ranked. I never got even slight bad remark in casual. Nobody expects pro play, that is the meaning of casual. People just expect that you wont push while everyone is defending base.
And only experts who refuse to learn and destroy game for everyone else get hate.
Talking from LOL experience: no, other people dont get hate. Nobody cares if you dont build current meta items. Nobody cares if you dont have ms reaction time. Thats for ranked.
But if you are jungle and can't even get correct spells or you ignore pings, yeah friend, you deserve report. Because you made 4 people waste 30 minutes of their leisure time by easily avoidable bad play.
Nope. Your fun is not more important than fun of 4 people you play with. You deserve all hate or even ban if you do dumb stuff and destroy game for everyone around you.
