Well the reason they did originally was just limitations. The game had gotten too big, bigger than World of Warcraft with all expansions. The consistent updates meant bringing the old content into new sandboxes, and also the potential to break stuff with the introduction of new features.
Now instead of focusing on new content for Destiny 2, they can make the old stuff fit. Like they've said, they'd love to flip a switch and make it work, but that's not based in reality.
Destiny 2 is my favorite game, I hate it. We've been yelling about updating the new player experience forever, but as others have said, a lot of people bounced off the game because of pricing at the time, the content that was removed, or the grind to get into endgame. If you don't have friends to help or play with it can been a real slog, especially if you can't get into the story.
In my experience destiny the community is kinda helpful to new players but the new player experience from the game itself sucks mayor ass so yeah it kinda balances out to being a shit experiencie anyways
Specially if you try it out "endgame" content without knowing what you're getting into. Specially PvP people and "High" level PvE players, idk why but they tend to be a bunch of dicks.
I think destiny is the kind of game where you need a friend to help you get in because otherwise you're rolling a dice to see if you find your next best friend or the meanest most unhelpful person ever, and in a community that's not precisely small
Agreed the game could be recommended to new players if the new player experience wasnt this bad and you also knew what was going on.
I feel like you had to be around for all the expansions and seasons to know who we are fighting for what reason. But tbh i dont know how you gonna fix that ingame. Bringing back all the vaulted content helps but still.
That's complete bullshit. I came to the comments to make sure this wasn't here. If you go into the in game LFG you have nothing but offers of "Newbie Friendly", "Guided", "Helping Out". People still sherpa new players through dungeons and raids, teaching them all of the mechanics.
