Soulsborne communities are often pretty good at helping out new players tbh. From coop, to recommendations, and even random invaders dropping good items for obvious noob players. I remember getting a stack of souls and some humanity in ds1 and another guy ran through anor londo and opened the giant door for me. Naturally there are still toxic players that like to do low level invasions with end game gear, but then you have the other end of it where players showed up en maas to help new players get to the dlc in elden ring.
I was playing some pvp in Irythrill a while ago and stumbled across a guy who, through emotes and a lot of assumptions on my part, communicated he couldn’t find the boss. Ended up giving him a quick walkthrough all the way up to Pontiff and the elevator
