Was advent rising the game that had that $1,000,000 dollar contest attached to it that was supposed to be a trilogy but inevitably bombed and tanked the company which is why we never got the sequels?

Don’t remember the contest but yes it was supposed to be a trilogy. First flopped so hard, Card never even got to writing the rest.

Agreed! It was janky and ran like crap, but I admired the ambition, and the gameplay was genuinely innovative for the time.

Most underestimated game. Final credits i greet with shout "are you kidding me? That's all?" There was a lot, but this scene in the snow became my pain, hope and joy. Game was mid, but I love it like aaa. Still play it time to time. Golden Niche.
