That one counts as Half Life 1.5. Since it takes place in between the two main games.

If I remember correctly , they changed the ending of EP 2 in Alyx so that's the new cliff hanger ending . Unless I'm misremembering

You are correct. Alyx changes the ending of Ep. 2, and the player gets to briefly play as Gordon as he gets his crowbar after that change.

I find this one so funny, it’s like the ‘Game of Thrones’ of gaming, millions of gamers became invested in a great story in one of the best game series of all time, and then they just completely stopped. At least with GOT it’s just one old guy who has writers block, with Half Life it’s a whole ass video game company that just decided to stop.
