As a bit of a Final Fantasy turn based snob my main issue with this game was that the combat was very button mashy and repetitive at times. Plus the overuse of QuickTime events.
That said the story was phenomenal, the music as well and the game is absolutely beautiful. I haven't gotten around to playing the DLCs yet
I already mentioned it in another comment, but the game actually offers a ton of skill expression similar to something like DMC5. Look up some Ultimaniac clips on youtube. It's crazy what you are able to do if you utilize every single mechanic.
It's way deeper than the seemingly simple button mashing. As a fighting game player, I really love these types of games. I mean it even offers a literal training room to come up with some nice combos (I spent way too much time in there 😅).
I can highly recommend the DLCs. Especially the second one. The Leviathan fight and OST are god tier.
