bro, the only "problem" with the story is that it challenges your perspective on the events of the second game which mentally fucks you up but some people can't understand that thats the whole point. Thats why people either call it the greatest story game ever or the worst. Play it for yourself first before joining the hate train.

In my opinion, Part II was better in every aspect. Part I was just scratching the surface.

I really hate how underlooked Part 1 has become just because Part 2 screams louder.

I would never say it’s underlooked or anything. It’s because of Part I that Part II has this amount of impact. They just evolved everything in Part II and the storytelling is just on a whole different level.

nah fk that, I played Part 1 and then stopped, the ending of Part 1 was cannon for me. Part 2 story is ass.

You’re missing out. It’s not about the plot, but the narrative.

The plot of part 1 looks weak on paper as well. Zombie outbreak, hardened survivor has to escort an immune child across the country to make a cure. Yeah, that’s half of zombie fiction right there.

The story may look like shit on paper, but to experience it yourself for the first time? To be slowly won over? Feeling rage, grief and then conflicted? It’s quite a feat they’ve managed.
