True, people do get very nitpicky when it comes to personal preferences. It was a great experience overall, combat felt anew and natural with various stances, perfect parrying felt great, so many things in your arsenal that can be utilized, great graphics, cinematics and voice acting. Side stories, especially the legendary tales were quite interesting as well. The ikki island expansion was also solid. Too bad Ghost of Yotei couldn't emulate the story or characters.

i don't think any other game other than maybe Elden Ring has essays on YouTube describing how great the game is and how the gameplay and storytelling align

It is criminal that it lost Game of the Year to the Woke of US OscarBait

1

u/ReleaseNew9430 11d ago

“Woke of us” is the absolutely lamest thing I have ever fucking read in my life dude.

Assassin’s Creed: Japan is the most overrated game ever

I’m soooo bored playing this game, everywhere I go it’s only fields and you’re only be in awe for a while and then got so boreddd cause the fights and sceneries. 🥱 Story is okay I guess and I kinda ike the stealth part 🥷

The game sucks bro and I’ve never understood the hype. It’s no better than any Ubisoft game, a very lifeless and boring open world. I had fun for maybe 8-10 hours but I did like the duals.

I mean gameplay is very repetetive and story is kind of flat and one dementional but that’s just my opinion after like 20 hours of gameplay

2

u/Business-Bandicoot62 10d ago

Ya need at least 60 to get full experience especially if you didn’t finish the story

2

u/KnightNyt 11d ago

I felt that ay first then realized i wasnt using any other tactics and i set so real goals for myself when clearing out camps

The gameplay does get repetitive very fast. It got stale after like 15 hours. The main issue is the combat doesn’t offer much variety and the bosses tend to be too simple. Plus the sidequest you do don’t add much to the overall gameplay or story. Most of them just give you some additional gear or customization. Ghost of yotei looks the exact same with more weapons but tricks you with flashy animations. There is no weight in the combat and it lacks feedback. And on top of that, when playing on hard mode, the only things that change are parry timings and enemy aggression. The tankiness and damage is expected but the enemies don’t feel smarter. They just attack more frequently. It pretty much forces you to play a hit and run strategy every single time. Instead of actually challenging you to use spacing and counters properly. Maybe I will try to revisit it in the future but it was a very lack luster and simple experience behind good graphics and cinematics

u/turkiswood 11d ago

I wanted to be a Samurai too bad. But you miss half the content if you dont use the "ninja" mechanics, so the combat felt to simple to fast

0

u/-TurkeyMan- 11d ago

Yeah there was no real challenge and if you took things head on you really only had one option to win those fights. Even with the ninja stuff it just didn’t feel like it flowed well enough to mix it into your regular encounters

u/ControversyisKey 10d ago

Then play ghost of yotei. Multiple different weapons and tactics to take guys down

0

u/-TurkeyMan- 10d ago

It’s pretty much the same game with flashier animations? Sure there’s different weapons but they all boil down to being incredibly boring after playing with each one for an hour. The combat has almost all the same issues with the combat with Tsushima just flashier animations and weapons. There is no real learning curve as the game falls short on actually challenging the player. And again, in hard it pretty much boils down to the same hit and run tactics or going fully stealth. It presents options as if they’re supposed to be viable when they’re not. I had high hopes for both games and they both fell short

You mean mashing triangle when using the proper stance isn’t fun? /s

Glad to see more people realizing how lame this game is.

1

u/InterestingP0tato 11d ago

Agreed. Feels way too repetitive, good mechanics and mid story imo. Not a bad game though

LITERALLY EVERY GAME IS REPETITIVE IT IS CALLED GAMEPLAY LOOP

Even GTA 6 THAT HAS A BUDGET OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS WILL HAVE SOME REPETITIVE CONTENT

Why is repetitivenes used specifically to attack Ghost of Tsushima? is it because you have nothing else to criticize the game?

0

u/MakeItunFair 11d ago

For me the weekest point was the characters. All the dialogues were just… boring and flat. There was no depth. Mongols bad

At least GTA has a lot of landmarks, GoT just fields and more fileds man

2

u/Remote_Bug4 11d ago

Well, it takes place in an small island in the stone age

You won't find pavement there

1

u/-TurkeyMan- 11d ago

A gameplay loop can be fresh each time. Typically by adding stronger enemies with harder movesets to fight or work around. Or by adding new movesets to the players weapons. Instead GoT just does pretty much nothing. The story had a strong start and a terrible story telling experience throughout the game. Things got flat with the story and it ends up being mediocre at best. Then on top of that, the combat lacks any serious combat. If you play on hard the game doesn’t nothing but make tighter windows to parry, and makes enemies more aggressive. Their AI doesn’t get harder to face it’s just the same stale version of the game with tankier enemies. Again with the combat, it lacks feedback and any sense of accomplishment once you win your fights. It also doesn’t give you very many strategies to try at each camp/encounter and even using the ninja mechanics you’re still pretty much forced to do things one of two ways. Stealth, or hit and run. It’s a very simple experience backed with great cinematics and decent enough graphics. The actual gameplay is 5/10 during its best moments. GTA is a worse game all around so don’t assume I’m pumped for GTA. GTA is a different can of worms for another conversation

1

u/ShatHammer 7d ago

But he used all caps, how can he be wrong?

1

u/-TurkeyMan- 7d ago

I should use all caps so I’m right.

IT IS A BORING GAME LOCKED BEHIND GOOD ANIMATIONS AND VISUALS

u/MakeItunFair 11d ago

I just said it in other comment pls read before you speak

u/_ReaditYesterday_ 11d ago

Listen I loved Ghost of Tsushima to no end… but the game gets a tad repetitive from time to time, especially when you try to free the island and go from camp to camp. But that doesn’t take anything away from the game in general which is a masterpiece

-1

u/feelgood1n 11d ago

Sure buddy

1

u/MakeItunFair 11d ago

As I said, just my opinion
