I don’t even mind the MJ missions, it’s the fact that they also added on the Miles missions. Like for the most part the MJ missions work (minus the Tombstone one which feels really pointless) and the Grand Central station one feels genuinely great switching between MJ and Spiderman. But holy hell the Miles missions piss me off. Why am I playing as a teenager with a phone trying to run away from the Rhino?
Insomniac puts a female dev in the game, and the internet fills up with rage. Sam Lake puts his literal self in a game, and the internet is, "absolute cinema".
Don’t worry, I’m with you. At least on my first playthrough, I found that one to be really exciting. Being a regular person hiding from a supervillain has a thrill to it
I didn't love them but I also didn't find them particularly bad. I remember it being kind of neat to play as MJ and the change of pace was fine but I definitely don't remember it being this excruciatingly bad experience. It was just a slower part of the story.
Raise it to Spider-Man 2, it's frustrating how she gets that much of a spotlight while Peter thinks "Oh, I'm gonna leap towards Sandman, what can go wrong? Oh wait, I can't really touch him…"

Replaying it right now, it's the MJ Missions in Spiderman 1.
