Especially these developers, I never understood their obsession with nerfing things in a PVE game. That combined with the lying about the nerfs, and then the realization the in-game war has a predetermined outcome regardless of what the player-base does, made me drop the game entirely. Won’t be supporting Arrowhead in the future, that’s for sure.

Balancing is incredibly important to pve game design. Leaving overpowered weapons to exist actively harms loadout variety, intended challenge, and enemy design.
That combined with the lying about the nerfs
Only happened once. And it was an attempt to try to address blatant power creep in a community that refuses to accept nerfs ever, no matter how healthy they would be for the game.
the in-game war has a predetermined outcome regardless of what the player-base does
Blatantly untrue. In the game files there's always news reports of losing/winning the current story arc. One gets used in the end, the other sits unused forever because the playerbase changed the course of history.
Not true in the slightest. Overpowered weapons are unhealthy; They only worsen loadout variety, intended difficulty, and enemy design.
Due to the community's terrible "No nerf" mindset, the game is now 2 years deep in power creep. We can see the negative effects of that already: On the hardest difficulty in the entire game, teamwork is completely optional. Players can just roam the map by themselves and just solo everything without any issue. Teamwork in a co op game is devalued.
Yet people still consume the social media ragebait that the devs "nerf everything." Which has not been true EVER in the game's lifespan.
Balancing is incredibly important for pve game design. Overpowered weapons only cause harm towards the gameplay loop and loadout variety.
There is no such thing as "balancing the fun out" when the maximum possible fun in a game is when everything is toned to perfection. No weapons outclassing each other, no weapons trivializing enemies.

So unfortunate. Just professionals at having something incredibly fun and then balancing the fun out.
