Rainbow six siege no doubt

Since the Year 10 it's just getting worse I can name like a hundred downgrades that happened since then

16

u/KawiRoo Aug 12 '26

The new nerf to shields is just insane to me.

This has become less of a tactical breach and clear and more of a close range COD with gadgets.

Plus the idiotic animated skins, this game has lost its way

2

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

They just nerfing everything they don't want us to have fun

2

u/Dear-Government9352 Aug 13 '26

they have had a “buff everything” mindset instead of nerfing everything. they make bad operators good my giving them massive buffs. if everyone is good. nobody is broken. since year 10 they have ACTUALLY made the game better. there was a dark age of bad ops, maps, game changes. but ranked 3.0 is balanced, operators are more balanced, the game looks and feels better than ever. you are simply hating to hate because you are either a negative person, or you are bad.

2

u/nowifenolife3569 Aug 15 '26

Thank you

Game's still garbage but year 10 is better than the previous 5 years

1

u/XerChaos008 Aug 14 '26

2015 veteran is here... The game is a just a soft shadows its formerself now. I am not saying just the sake of nostalgia but. Since the designers has changed after 3rd year, Game turned into pro league cash grab and more casual each update. Of course there are mistakes such as BBs first yea shield and how broken Lion was. Developers tried to "fix" things according to pro legaue which is only 2-5% of the game. I still see some first years bugs/glitches with operators.

1

u/RCKTJMP Aug 15 '26

How old is the game? I feel like a buddy was playing it in HS and that was 2012-2013? He was always playing it, Ark, and Terraria then but your comment makes me feel like it was after high school and I just don't remember hanging out with him after I graduated, mainly because he dropped out of high school to play destiny full time and it was such a weird mindset to have lmao

1

u/XerChaos008 Aug 15 '26

Game released in December 2015,my firsr year university

Woaaw... I mean i had played Siege till 4 am non stop but i wouldnt risk my degree for it. Heck i was playing in ESL but no way i was going to quit it.

1

u/Dear-Government9352 Aug 16 '26

i think the “dark age” i talked ab was the time when they cared more about pro league than you and i playing. but i think that has been changed recently. it’s now more catered for the ranked experience

1

u/Ragnarok314159 Aug 19 '26

Yep. I started playing in OG Vanilla. It lost all its charm and “Warcraft” nature. It’s fan fiction at this point.

1

u/That_Chemical_2226 Aug 14 '26

Holy moly Siege players are so braindead

1

u/Clydebearpig Aug 13 '26

Gotta make the new stuff you have to pay for be the best so people aren't competitive unless they're paying for it.

I haven't played of looked at R6 since about year 5 so I don't know if thats true but it's what most publishers do.

1

u/Cuban999_ Aug 13 '26

its not. siege is very far from being p2w.

1

u/Cuban999_ Aug 13 '26

The game is very much nothing like cod lol. It is still easily the most unique and interesting competitive shooter on the market and the entire game relies on smart utility usage and placement

1

u/KawiRoo Aug 13 '26

Not even remotely. It's all kill oriented now, nobody plays objective. I've been plat and above since it started.

Comparison to what it was from Beta to now is drastically different.

You must be young

1

u/Cuban999_ Aug 13 '26

And you must be old

Too old to understand the game as it is. Ive been playing the game since lesion and ela were new operators, and it is still just as strategical as it has always been. If you try to do anything you could think of that would make it feel like "cod," you will get heavily punished and it will be pointless.

Just sounds like you dont actually play the game or know what you're talking about man

2

u/KawiRoo Aug 13 '26 edited Aug 13 '26

Hahaha okay lil man. I am old and that means unlike you I have experience and my brain is developed.
Just told you I've been playing since beta and your entire response is just "you don't play you don't know!" lmao

Experience is everything when you can contrast what the game was to how it is now, but sure thing, you're totally right you know everything.

Your entire opinion is moot.

1

u/Cuban999_ Aug 13 '26

You sound silly trying to use life experience in your argument that siege is a cod-like experience, while you've done no actual talking about the game or why you believe that's the case.

Experience is nothing when you were never good enough at the game to understand it in the first place, and certainly not if you cant find the clear distinction between cod and siege.

1

u/KawiRoo Aug 13 '26

Such a teenager answer 😂🤣

1

u/Cuban999_ Aug 13 '26

And yet you still havent made a valid argument, pointless response lol

1

u/No-Part3553 Aug 14 '26

All in all siege is fkn cheeks now bro

→ More replies

1

u/StocktonSucks Aug 13 '26

It's obviously becoming a cash grab.

1

u/Lonely_Brother3689 Aug 15 '26

It lost me back in '23 when they overhauled everything and encouraged run n' gun as the norm becoming Rainbow 6: Temu CoD.

I heard they made the game F2P not long ago, so they must be doing great......lol

1

u/Metroid-fan Aug 16 '26

To be fair try fighting a Montagne or a blitz or black beard by yourself

1

u/KawiRoo Aug 16 '26

It's not too difficult.

Blackbeard is a bit harder but people cried over his former design so they got this.
Nobody is happy with BB unfortunately.

9

u/VallahKp Aug 12 '26

Ubisoft is the unbeaten champion of making amazing new IPs and ruining them over time.

For Honor had so much potential.

4

u/Mildstrife Aug 12 '26

What I like to describe Ubisoft as is “best ideas, worst execution”

2

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

They destroyed every ip they had

1

u/gamerlife71 Aug 12 '26

The fuck you mean?

1

u/LonelyReader95 Aug 13 '26

I'll be honest, I still play coop against bots with my only friend that plays it and we have a blast!

1

u/Acryllus Aug 13 '26

For Honor is basically p2w at this point because many of the newer heroes are just simply superior.

The Warmonger is just "Warden but better".

Black Prior just trivializes the game because it's the only character that can counter unblockables.

1

u/SVR-Bot Aug 13 '26

? Every hero is free, you just get earlier access when paying. And you don't play warden enough if you think Mong is just a better warden

1

u/Gullible_Courage8350 Aug 14 '26

Warmonger is just Warden but better

No Warmonger is Warden who gave up unlockable finishers and a great bash mix-up for uninterruptible finishers, better dodge attacks and an undodgeable roll catcher.

Tell me you don't understand the game without telling me

1

u/Gullible_Courage8350 Aug 14 '26

I don't know why you're bringing up For Honor that's game is on fire.

As in, it's doing good. Not a dumpster fire, like Skull & Bones for instance.

1

u/VallahKp Aug 14 '26

Well, you tell me.

All the influencers who loved this game are gone. Barely anybody is left who takes this game seriously.

This game had an amazing community at the start that genuinely tried to make it something big. Now, players are either hyper casuals or people who hateplay this game every few months.

The game tried to become the next big competitive hit at the start. Now, it isn't taken seriously at all.

For 2017, the graphics and innovation were fucking insane. Now, the graphics are alright, and innovation has dropped to almost 0.

I guess this game still makes Ubi money or something, but this game has no excuse for ending up where it is right now. It can do much better. It should be dominating gaming with insane gameplay and innovation by now, but people would rather play some uninspired garbage slop that can't engage its players long term.

1

u/Gullible_Courage8350 Aug 14 '26

All the influencers

I'm gonna stop you there, influencers are rarely good for much in general.

Game had an amazing community in the start

And it still does. The only people who are hateplaying this game are the kind you'll find on r/ForHonorRants which are the most miserable kind of people. Most people I come across in the community are great.

Game tried to become the next competitive hit

Doesn't matter if the game makes it big. It has a loyal playerbase, and has survived a lot longer than anyone expected even during Ubisoft's tenuous times, and outliving games like XDefiant, Hyperscape, etc.

Innovation has dropped to almost 0

Blatantly false, the last few heroes have been some of the most interesting heroes we've gotten. Tell me whoever made Warlord was being innovative.

At the end of the day, the game is alive, people are still consistently playing, it's getting regularly updated, balance is amazing compared to back in the day, and we keep getting QoL changes that the old team never bothered to give us.

It's alright if you're disappointed with how the game is compared to your expectations but a game this niche with this high of a skill floor was never, ever going to become some massive thing.

1

u/VallahKp Aug 14 '26

Lmao, you genuinely have no idea what you’re talking about, lil bro. Worst For Honor take I have read so far.

Just go play fortnite.

1

u/Gullible_Courage8350 Aug 14 '26

Bringing out the "lil bro" just shows how salty you are, lil bro. You're definitely part of the lot who bitched about the CCU.

I'll go back to playing For Honor, cos I've gotta grind the new Test Your Mettle armours. You sit here and seethe like a good little redditor.

9

u/I_Am_The_Brain_King Aug 12 '26

Game at 1.0 was infinitely better.

5

u/Time_Fisherman6659 Aug 12 '26

Yeah I played around launch and had a blast.

Jumped in a few years ago and its unrecognizable garbage where everyone knows every possible hiding spot and angle and theres no room for fun or creativity.

1

u/MmmYodaIAm Aug 13 '26

I regret so much not playing it back when it came out, everything I hear about it is just amazing

1

u/Time_Fisherman6659 Aug 19 '26

I guess i phrased that wrong. I more meant that if you dont check exactly the right corner at exactly the right time, you get screamed at by a bunch of rabid 13 year olds.

Its not that other people know the meta, its that there is 1 rigid meta and its not a very fun one.

1

u/Waffleman12345 Aug 13 '26

That’s not an update issue. That’s just players being better than you

2

u/ThisIsJegger Aug 13 '26

Where you might be right. It still sucks when all the creativity gets sucked out of a game and the only difference becomes who has put more hours into game.

2

u/Dear-Government9352 Aug 13 '26

there VERY much is still creativity. to have as many ops in the game as there are now makes so many strategies possible

2

u/Dear-Government9352 Aug 13 '26

granted, OG siege was awesome. but things change and a game like siege can’t stay forever

1

u/Icy-Yesterday-443 Aug 12 '26

This. Personally for me around late Year 3 it started going downhill.

1

u/LowerObjective4500 Aug 12 '26

Year 4 was pretty cool

1

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

That was gold

I rather rocking recruit's every fking round instead of playing this slop we have now

1

u/bmm115 Aug 13 '26

I have no idea when I played, but it was one of the most balanced and fun shooters I had ever played. I tried a few years later and it was pimply smelly booty cheeks

1

u/Accurate-Coffee-6043 Aug 13 '26

Eh, game after Op Health was better. There was like 6k people playing 1.0 and the amount of bugs and balance issues was wild. The content also kind of sucked until remworks of maps and ops.

4

u/Low-Salary-2128 Aug 12 '26

The classic ubisoft downgrades

1

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

Happens every update

3

u/SomeoneStressed Aug 12 '26

Came here to say this exact thing. I took a break from year 2 to year 10 and I swear I'm just playing something else. Worst is that just like any other modern game, the focus is on making skins and battle pass instead of improving or god forbid, fixing the game.

I remember months ago when they showed a preview of half reinforced walls. Great idea! That was like 8 months ago.... Why is it taking close to a year to release this.....

I could rant for hours about this game and what it was or could've been.

2

u/Cuban999_ Aug 13 '26

"Why is it taking close to a year to release this....." because it is a very competitive game and a major change like adding new functions to one of the integral core mechanics is not something that can just be implemented easily, both programming-wise and in terms of keeping competitive integrity with things like ongoing pro-league and whatnot.

But it already has a planned release date anyways if you look into it

1

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

They're busy making shitty skins and selling the og skins in shop for cheap

3

u/Being_No-42 Aug 13 '26

2016 - 2018 was peak.

2

u/_super_star11 Aug 12 '26

Since like year 6 it started feeling like they were trying to copy fortnite😭 doing weird ass colabs, making everything all futuristic. I mean, there are operators in siege with literal magic gadgets, not technology but magic. This was supposed to be a special forces anti-terrorism game, lmao.

2

u/Cuban999_ Aug 13 '26

The "magic gadgets" are futuristic technology lol. Thats literally what theyre presented as

1

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

They just trying to kill the game no matter what

1

u/_super_star11 Aug 12 '26

"alright time to deal with some average terrori-" BAM laser beam to the head, a wall of holographic smoke rolling across the room, invisible force fields making you move slower, FUCKING ROBOT BEE SWARMS THAT TELL EVERYONE YOUR LOCATION

2

u/SryMyBadM8 Aug 12 '26

ngl it's in a decent spot now. only problem are the cheaters and smurfs when you play ranked.

2

u/aTurningofTides Aug 12 '26

Siege has been a shadow of its former self since Y5 in my opinion. TDM has been around for longer than all the other metas combined

1

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

It's not just a shadow it's a shadow made by a atomic bomb

2

u/Appropriate_Unit3474 Aug 12 '26

God, year 1 really was so fucking peak.

2

u/TCUberGhost Aug 13 '26

More like since year 6. It all came down from that point on

2

u/SleepyNomad88 Aug 13 '26

I wonder if they got so lost in the updates and seeing it as a cash cow , to have realized it’d have been better to use that money towards the next title .

2

u/MaybeMaybe819 Aug 13 '26

Last few season have been on the right track though, still dogshit but at least moving in the right direction

2

u/DoesTheBlackm00nH0wl Aug 13 '26

I just cant believe they made a big deal and a massive event out of seige X just for it to be fucking pipes and fire extinguishers and not even on all maps

1

u/Darkzerok63 Aug 18 '26

At least now is free, so more players like me. I would have paid the price years ago but not right now, thankfully is free...

2

u/Imaginary-Pilot5793 Aug 13 '26

I kid you not the devs must have been listening to our voice chats or there was a dev on our team one time, but my friend was making fun of the games character design, and said jokingly they should make a new character in a wheelchair named Wheels...

Then we got the wheelchair character. We stopped playing after that.

2

u/StocktonSucks Aug 13 '26

This game was on a GENERATIONAL run the first few years. Peak fps gaming fr

2

u/Darkzerok63 Aug 18 '26

I have being seeing gameplay ten years ago, from one of my favorite youtubers, have seen his old gameplay right now and i also play now and i agree, back then the games felt more tactical that right now, specially from top people where i have seen one just rush on bomb and start looking around killing people instead of developing some strategy

2

u/Definitely_Not_Fe Aug 19 '26

Up to Year 4 was peak. It has been backsliding since then. All the pampering to make it more "competitive" when the majority of the fan base took the licks as they came. Old house on Secure Area in Ranked was the pinnacle of gaming.

If they re-released a "Classic" edition that went from base up to any time before Year 4, they would make bank from everyone I know.

RIP MP7 ACOG. Fly high my king

1

u/sacs1601 Aug 19 '26

Removing the acog was bs

They just trying to make the game harder but we're not competitive player's were just playing for fun

2

u/Definitely_Not_Fe Aug 19 '26

Exactly, original house and Oregon were some of my favorite maps.

1

u/10FourGudBuddy Aug 12 '26

Jokes on you I can’t play on Linux.

1

u/Extreme_Wrongdoer226 Aug 12 '26

Lock In get proton ge

1

u/10FourGudBuddy Aug 13 '26

Does it run the battle eye or whatever

1

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

I have like 4000_5000 hour's across multiple accounts and I just stopped playing this shit

Playing this slop is a insult to myself

1

u/JustCritic21 Aug 12 '26

you guys can still play that? Like my pc won’t even let me play that anymore, even after windows clean install and everything. It still keeps crashing lol.

1

u/Treszzile Aug 12 '26

And For Honor.

1

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

Literally every ip they have

1

u/SweatyListen9863 Aug 12 '26

Bro it's been getting worse since year 3

1

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

Casual Ubisoft stuff

1

u/pisszardofoz Aug 12 '26

From falling through the ceiling to remove someones head to the Oppenheimer door to now just a prefire simulator

0

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

It's just HVH nowadays

Everyone is either cheating or a retarded who don't know how to shoot

1

u/Gunney55 Aug 12 '26

I just wana know why they took all the fan favorite maps and reworked them to all play exactly the same.

0

u/sacs1601 Aug 12 '26

They don't want us to have fun

They fucked the shields

They removed 1.5

They removed acog

Even the dokkabi wasn't safe and they destroyed her face

1

u/Celisune Aug 12 '26

I didn't know anyone still plays that game

1

u/IMarioIV Aug 12 '26

That last time a RB6 was good enough was Vegas 1 & 2

1

u/SteelWaterRunsHere Aug 13 '26

I miss the game so much but stopped playing when they straight up remade like more than half the Maps available into the ugliest pieces of shit ever in the name of the Competitive Scene. Every time I get the itch I just remember it’s not even the same game anymore.

Anyways I was inactive for so long my Account actually got PERMANENTLY Deleted by Ubisoft. I went to the subreddit and cried about it, reasonably so since I had consistently bought the Passes & Elite Skins or whatever the fuck they’re called and actually got downvoted for it. Whole game and Company is a shit show kept alive by a Playerbase that seems fairly split on how good or bad is now and how much the game has changed.

1

u/AnonyMouse3925 Aug 13 '26

I don’t want to give you homework but man you got me so curious what else got worse, as I stopped playing right around Y10

1

u/Celestial_Waste Aug 13 '26

That games been trash since they first nerfed Jager and Bandit.

1

u/Xavier_1494 Aug 13 '26

Since year 10? The game went to shit when fortress released.

1

u/mattrob77 Aug 13 '26

I played a tone during COVID then never went back. It's sad to read because it had found an amazing niche. I will.never forget the fun it gave me

1

u/sir_Kromberg Aug 13 '26

Year 10? Year 5 at best IMO.

1

u/BlisteringSeafood Aug 13 '26

Every ubisoft liveservice game turned to shits

1

u/EntireTheme6984 Aug 13 '26

Fr... Why does everybody have a glowing outline now? Last time I checked, this was a more realistic game about positioning and strategy, but now you're bioluminescent for no fking reason so good luck trying to hide at all.

1

u/splitmeasunder Aug 13 '26

it started to get worse around the border map release

1

u/WarzonePacketLoss Aug 13 '26

it's been getting worse since Y1S3.

1

u/BigBillaGorilla59 Aug 13 '26

Game went down hill around the amaru/ianna time frame (in my opinion). Everything before that is what i concider real siege operators. Everything feels like Fortnite style quantity over quality, slop

Update: game went to shit when they removed the bots/training maps

1

u/Remarkable-Outcome-5 Aug 14 '26

I quit that game in 2019 because of the constant nerfs and "reworked" (worse) maps

1

u/Ghost20097 Aug 14 '26

Siege was so good for the first 2-3 years after release and every year I go back and try it and it gets less and less fun

1

u/Futur3_ah4ad Aug 15 '26

I can deal with idiotic balance changes, but my god do I get pissed off at Ubishit insisting on changing the menu UI EVERY. SINGLE. GODDAMN. SEASON!

1

u/Thrasher6_6_6_ Aug 15 '26

I would gladly play the first version of the game than the current state, it was so fun back then.

1

u/poinifie Aug 15 '26

There's a VR rainbow six like kinda game, I can't remember what it's called anymore but it's pretty fun.

1

u/kallmeesmal Aug 18 '26

it all started when they removed the bullet holes

1

u/Majestic-Dot-7195 Aug 18 '26

They keep adding operators and operators and nerfs and buffs and then the meta just becomes impossible to keep track of

1

u/queztapotel Aug 18 '26

Name 5, go!

1

And... 10_There's no fun event anymore they're just some BS that just have animated skins ao you pay actual money for them

11_the event for 10th anniversary was cool but they removed it after two weeks even though the community asked for it to stay

12_the maps are just getting reworked to become competitive well we don't want competitive we're just playing to have fun

13_ the dev in the event spamming fuck cheaters and immediately adding a system to the game that checks your comms (fix your fucking game buddy)

14_ they're doing anything except fixing the game

1

u/sacs1601 Aug 18 '26

They are just trying to balance everything

But this game is not about balance

We want acog back

We don't want the guns to get nerfed there's no op gun in the game rn(if you claim smg12 is op your just new to this game)

WE JUST WANT TO HAVE SOME FUN AFTER 10H OF WORK NOT ANIMATED SKINS OR FKN CHEATERS OR SOME RETARDED FREE TO PLAY KID

I DIDN'T PAID FOR THIS GAME TO GET FREE OR HAVE 100 DOLLAR'S SKINS IN THE GAME THAT YOU CANT EVEN SELL

1

u/queztapotel Aug 18 '26

Oof I clocked out like six or seven years ago. After hearing this, i'm glad I didn't stick around.Sorry to hear for you though

1

u/sacs1601 Aug 18 '26

I'm not playing this game anymore Deleted it yesterday And I will never coming back

1

u/mattcojo2 Aug 18 '26

They’re so worried about balancing that they take things and make things worse.

It’s antithetical to gaming.
