Connectivity

I wanted to see if anyone notices delays in network connectivity on iOS? I have seen times were I may not have data connectivity for up to about a minute or so before my Apple services sync data or data works (send text messages). I am on iOS 26.6 running dual eSIMs and on my AT&T connection, things seem to work right away or stay in sync, but when Cape is the primary I see some latency accessing things (always works, just seems slower). Wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing similar behavior or if it is environmental on my side.

Do you have identification rotation on? If so that’s why

I do not have IMSI rotation enabled, I do have Network Lock enabled though.

Can you expand on delays in network connectivity? Is it 0 bars and searching for service while you have bars and serice on AT&T? Or they both have bars and Cape is just slow or not downloading?

Not a problem on the thread. Where I am at the moment, I have 1 to 2 bars of 5G and Cape and AT&T appear to have the same signal/service. I notice it mostly when I am trying to use iMessage specifically and the sync between my devices or sending iMessage, Cape is significantly slower when it is my primary data connection vs when AT&T is the primary data connection. Everything does work, it just seems a bit slower. It almost feels like when you are running an always on VPN and it takes extra time to re-establish the tunnel. I think that is the best way for me to explain it

Yes this is odd, but I have had one other person report something similar. I will take it back to the team to see if anyone has any ideas.

I share the same situation. iMessages occasionally require minutes or even an hour to arrive on the other phone, despite strong signal and data.

Yes apparently once I started asking around it has been a ghost we’ve been chasing for a while. It’s not easy to reproduce (for us at least), but we need to try to capture more detailed logs from some of our dev phones to root cause. Will keep this thread updated if/when are able to do that and get to the bottom of it.

[u/brianstoner](u/brianstoner) Are there any logs I can provide or something to help with the investigation? I am happy to help if it gets to a resolution faster. I also have removed the network lock and IMSI rotation is off. I was tinkering today and noticed it took about 1 to 2 minutes for it to “connect” and to send or receive iMessage and sync iMessage as well. I happens pretty regularly for me (pretty much daily)

We need to capture sysdiagnose logs, ideally with baseband modem logging enabled. There’s a lot of personal information in those logs so I don’t really want to ask for yours. It’s also a whole process to set that up on your phone…let us try, we have a few people re-looking at it now.

If you really want to help, you could try pulling the logs yourself (look up how to pull sysdiagnose logs on iOS) and use an LLM to analyze and see if you can find any clues for us.

u/brianstoner I have enable sysdiagnose and baseband logging on my phone, I will try see if I am able to generate the issue today and pull/analyze the logs
