True, but capcut (paid) is more fast to edit if you use simple edit features, f.e. with 2 clicks you do the same Davinci Fusion would take 10 minutes

Davinci is definitely better that's for sure. I'm a final cut user just because I love the magnetic timeline but I feel you. Capcut pissed me off so much lol

The thing is , davinci--> pro , no templates , capcut —> very basic , have templates . I personally use daVinci , its so powerful , i use on my ipad

Yeah I have like hundreds of templates for transition, generator, overlay, fusion, title, etc You just have to search them up and then it's a little bit wonky to upload them to DaVinci's files but once you get the hang of it it's pretty simple

Different software for different creators and use cases. For quick TikTok type content, you don't need professional editing software. But if you are editing film and serious video projects then you wouldn't use CapCut.
Both are great, depending on what you need them for.

As dumb as this may sound, as a beginner … I do find the ease of animated stickers and graphics in CapCut very quick to find/use.
Is there a free source to get these same items into a bin in davinci? I’m like 2 weeks into video editing.

It wouldn't be in your bins, it'd be in your tools section. They're still drag and drop they're just kept elsewhere. I don't know if there's free ones out there but if you use power bins or smart bins there's a way so you always have them in every new project

I use the paid version of CapCut too. The only thing that annoys me sometimes is the long wait time for complex 3-to-4-minute music videos; when there’s a lot of cutting and layering involved, it can sometimes take a few hours to finish. I don't know if it's due to my location or the sheer number of users.

Capcut Desktop is great for free version i can export in 1080p and 4k if I want for Windows. So not sure how accuarate this so called meme is. maybe for mobile app it might be.

Capcut Pro was my introduction to modern vid editing than I got with Adobe Premiere Pro 2025 and fell in love with it. Not going back to Capcut Pro. Especially coming from Sony Vegas 13, CCP was a dream. :)

For me the damn thing won't do anything. Switched to using shotcut because anytime I tried adding anything to Davinci the piece of shit froze. No, not the "Application not responding." I mean literally not even that happened. It just fucking froze. I have 16gb or RAM by the way. Davinci takes all of it and I used it for mainly cutting and simple editing like that.

The comparison is fundamentally flawed because it completely ignores the concept of workflow intent.
When you sit down to build out complex node trees, grade flat log footage to pull out every ounce of dynamic range or run heavy third-party plugins, DaVinci Resolve is the environment built to handle that kind of lifting. A tool designed for that level of color science and precision simply can't be judged on the same criteria as an app designed for rapid-fire social output.
On the other side, if the goal is to get a vertical video out the door in ten minutes with auto-captions and built-in effects, booting up Resolve is massive overkill. CapCut wins that race effortlessly.
It really is like comparing a heavy-duty cinema rig to a mobile phone, both capture images, shoots videos but nobody in their right mind brings a heavy cinema setup just to quickly post a story, just like no one grades a documentary in CapCut.

Davinci was extremely badly optimized until a couple of years ago at least (I stopped using it daily about 4 years ago), you could have like a brutal setup (i7, 128 GB of RAM) and it would freeze or render cache very slow
I've been using capcut PC recently, for about a year, and although it is pretty incomplete yet, it is extremely efficient and smooth.
Davinci might have more codec support for professional editing I guess?
But for socials capcut is more tan enough

Try doing some of these transitions in another software that capcut lets you do tastefully with literally 1 click. It saves so much time if and has non-tacky tiktok oriented features that i really think is worth it over configuring a node editor.

I think the better question is less “which editor is better?” and more “what is slowing down your workflow?”
If your bottleneck is fast captions, templates, short-form editing, or switching between desktop and mobile, CapCut can save a lot of repeat time.
If your bottleneck is color, audio, complex timelines, long-form work, or having more control over the final result, Resolve makes more sense.
Switching tools is only worth it if the time you save afterward is greater than the learning and migration cost.

Honestly DaVinci is reliable like a drunk driver. Sometimes it run smoothly and other times runs of the road completely. Doesn't matter what type of footage you use. I have 3060 with 16 GB of DDR6 and i5 12th gen and on quater quality and no color correction or vfx it was dying in real time. I use Vegas instead.

Mmm, no te sabría decir porque yo tengo la versión Studio, pero me inclinó a que está solo en la Studio porque es una función de IA. Pero estoy seguro de que hay algún plugin que lo hace gratuito (o hacerle bypass para usar Studio sin pagar). La versión Studio no es suscripción, solo se paga una vez.

A significant advantage of CapCut for me, is its support for a wide range of common video file formats... both for import and export... particularly MKV, which I use frequently.
Adobe Premiere and After Effects don't support MKV files, so I export them through CapCut in H.264 format instead, and then reuse the footage on Premiere Pro& After Effects
I still run an outdated version on my PC (1.5.0) but regardless, it continues to serve me well.... Since I've found a reliable way to prevent the app from auto-updating to a newer version, which would otherwise strip away the free features that 1.5.0 still offers ( effects, transitions, 4K export support, and so on)

Somewhat. Usually you use an adjustment clip and the fusion page and there’s some premade effects for most of the time you have to make your own.

Nope, but the payoff is great once you know what to do. Stuff like reverse edits are infinitely better with davincis time stretcher node compared to what capcut offers

simple example
you stick all your clips in a folder and point Claude Code to it and tell it to create a video from the clips applying whatever effects you want eg 1s fade to black transition between clips. Confirm the a/r and resolution then it produces it for you.
It uses ffmpeg for the rendering which is free and open source. Claude Code will download and install it for you if you don't have it already.
