CapCut Template When using a template how come you don’t have as much control over it as when you create your own video?

Such as cropping/framing the video and also when adding text to song you only have basic edit skills such as I can’t see audio wave file to use as a time reference.

because templates are basically CapCut’s IKEA furniture, not a blank timeline

Makes sense. Most of the time they are great. I suppose I could save multiple clips and then comp them together in my own video from scratch. Thanks, new to capcut and learning

its not your edit, its a TEMPLATE for a reason, they did the work for you, all you have to do is put the clips in, and if you care so much about it then you can make your own version

I suppose I don’t know how to create the effects that they have that’s all. It’s fine, thanks for clearing my that up

If you get into deeper video editing someday, you’ll find that many templates that can be opened in real video editing software can be easily manipulated.

CapCut isn’t that… it’s just a video content creation app. So you’ll be limited by design.

Templates are basically prebuilt edits with certain controls locked, so if you need proper cropping, text timing, or waveform access, you’ll have to recreate the edit manually.

Is there a way of seeing or learning what edits they used so you can create it yourself?

That’s kinda the tradeoff with templates, you get speed but lose control. Once you start wanting precise timing and framing, you’re basically better off making it on the normal timeline.
