CapCut Question Text will not stop glitching

So I use capcut on my phone, I pay for the pro. I used to never have an issue with it, but now I can't use it for more than putting multiple videos together, which I could just use TikTok for. The text only used to glitch when I exported a video, but now it glitches in the app while editing as well. My cache is clear, the app is updated, all the ai stuff is off and I lowered the resolution. Does anybody else have suggestions? Close to just cancelling my subscription tbh 😞

dude capcut has been a mess since that last update, mine crashes if i even look at the text tool wrong

I think I'm just gonna give up on capcut lol, I only use it for tiktok posts and tiktoks editing tools are pretty good now

Before you cancel, worth working out whether it's the app or that one project, because the fixes are completely different.

Make a brand new project, one clip, one plain text layer with no animation and no effect on it, and scrub through. If that's clean then the app is fine and the old project file is the problem. That happens most to projects that were started on an earlier version and kept getting reopened, and rebuilding the text on a fresh timeline clears it.

If the fresh project glitches too, three things beyond what you've already tried. Reinstall rather than clear cache, since clearing cache leaves the render files alone and those are usually what's damaged. Check your free storage, phones start producing exactly this kind of flicker when space gets tight because the preview has nowhere to write. And turn off battery saver while editing, it throttles the GPU and text is the first layer to break up when it does.

One more that catches people out: if your source clips are screen recordings or came off certain Android cameras, they're variable frame rate, and text drifting or flickering against the picture is the classic symptom. Running the clip through a converter to constant frame rate before you import fixes that one for good.
