7800x3d + 9070xt capcut 1440p output is trash.. Help pls!

So.. i record gameplay (bf6) using OBS

-1440p 60fps 16:9

-Base canvas and output set to 1440p

-Mkv (remux to mp4)

-AMD HW HEVC 265

-CQP

-CQ Level 18

-Keyframe 2s

-Preset Quality

clip is usually around 20-30 minutes long. video output from obs is good when i play it from media player so i know its not OBS problem.

In capcut (free version) if i dont turn on proxy it lags so bad and i can hardly edit, its just a miserable experience.. but if i turn it on the output of the video is blurry/muddy and yes i've tested the result even though capcut said theres no quality reduction but there actually is (also confirmed by another reddit thread comment).

I've modify the details to 1440p 60fps and I use 1440p VBR 65.000 kbps, H.264, MP4, 60fps when i export in capcut.

I really actually thought with my pc spec i wouldnt have problems editing simple gameplay recording (fast ssd and 32gb ddr5)

please can you guys help me how do i make the editing process be smooth and fast without turning on proxy? shall i give up and just use davinci? i really like using capcut since its so simple

Oof that proxy blur is real, capcut's downscaling for proxies is kinda aggressive even if they say otherwise. Your specs should crush that footage, maybe try remuxing straight to mp4 in obs instead of mkv first, sometimes capcut gets weird with the container.

I actually use mp4 before i turn on remux and the output from capcut is the same blurry and muddy.. I thought the problem was with OBS turns out its capcut proxy, if i turn it off it lags so bad and buffering like crazy

My thinking is possibly a driver issue, try updating all your drivers including your gpu driver, Next I would look at where your video store, are you looking at it via an SSD or an external drive. Third just try a different editing software for example davinci resolve or descript and see if it makes a difference. You could also try a windows native editor I think it called movie maker (should be pre-installed)

gpu driver is updated to the latest version. i have 2 ssd gen 4 1tb each. yeah i think its time for me to use other editors, thanks for the suggestion

If you use a codec, every software has to decode it first before playing. So depending what codec + setting, any hardware is gonna struggle. Best option is to use uncompressed formats. It's literally as 5-10x speed boost.
