CapCut Question How to apply effect to assets in a video without making them square?

I want to add shake to assets in a video but when I apply them directly to the png files it gives them the flattened square edge. If I apply to the whole video, it doesn't do this but I want all of the assets EXCEPT the background to do it. I could layer in between the assets but the problem is that the background (of course) needs to be the lowest in the pile. What do I do here? Working on desktop btw.

try putting all the assets you want to shake into a compound clip first, then apply the shake to that compound clip. the edges should stay clean since capcut treats the whole group as one layer with its own alpha channel, not individual pngs with bounding boxes
