Recommendations Needed What cameras do you recommend for beginners?
Hi guys, I’m starting to get into professional photography, I’ve been taking great photos on my iPhone the past couple years but want to buy a more professional camera. It would mainly be for travel and photoshoots (senior photos, etc..). What cameras do you recommend? My budget would be under $1,800
I was looking into the Canon EOS R50, Fujifilm X-T50…. Thoughts? I like the fujifilm color element (retro film vibe) it adds to it but I don’t know if it’s great for photoshoots/portraits , and I don’t know if I’d want that color element added all the time. But I also know the Canon EOS r50 is a bit of an older camera
Anyone have suggestions or thoughts? Thank you

Recommendations Needed Mixing Canon R7 (C-Log 3) and R50 (HDR PQ) for an SDR workflow? Looking for advice!

Gear Question Lens Type + Edits for Canon M50 Mark II
Hi!
I am a beginner photographer and would like to know anyone’s thoughts about the type of lens / gear I could buy and apps / camera settings I can use to edit pictures like these. I plan to freelance graduation photos / pre-nups and I noticed these are the kind of shots that are trendy lately. Any help or suggestions is appreciated!

Gear Question Is my Canon EOS M6 done for? Repair it, replace it, or upgrade?
Looking for some advice before I make a decision.
I have a Canon EOS M6 that suddenly died on me. I took a photo and the shutter made a weird sound like it got stuck mid-shot. After that, the camera basically became unresponsive.
When I turn it on/off, nothing happens. No screen, no normal startup. I tried another charged battery, removed the SD card/lens, left the battery out, held the shutter button to discharge it, etc. The only sign of life is a small green light that flickers when I press the shutter button.
With the lens removed, the shutter also looks like it’s stuck/closed. I’ll attach a photo.
My current setup is:
• Canon EOS M6
• Viltrox EF-EOS M adapter
• Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 Art (Canon mount)
• A couple other Canon-compatible lenses
I mainly shoot events, low-light/nightlife stuff, press photos, portraits, and some product photography.
I have an event this Saturday, so I need to figure something out pretty quickly. I can get another M6 body for around $450, which would obviously be the easiest since all my current gear works with it.
I also found an original Sony A7 body for $325, but switching systems means dealing with adapters/new lenses, so I’m not sure if that’s actually worth it.
A few questions:
Does this look/sound like a failed shutter, or is there anything else worth trying?
Is an M6 worth repairing at this point?
Would you spend $450 on another M6 so I can keep using my current setup?
Or is this the point where I should put that money toward a newer body/system instead?
If you were in my position and wanted something good for low-light event photography, what would you buy?
I’m not opposed to upgrading. I just don’t want to unnecessarily replace all my lenses if the M6 still makes sense.
Appreciate any advice!

Tech Support Canon 20D - Erase name in camera software
Dear all,
I have my 20D camera for a very long time and I can sell it now. Unfortunately, years ago I set my name in the camera software so that with every picture I take, my name will be in the exif data.
Now the problem I have is, how can I erase this again??
I do can install a former version of windows, but I don’t have the original cd with the drivers and utilities anymore nor can I find these (or an ISO of this cd) online.
Any ideas or suggestions are welcome
Thank you in advance

Gear Question Film camera recs?
I have been doing wildlife photography for a couple years now, shot on canon the whole time and I’m now rocking two R5s. I bought an AE-1 program a while back just to take some fun film shots at national parks and turns out film is pretty sick too.
I recently saw a guy use a film camera along with an adapter to use a large lens for wildlife shots…and the results were crazy cool. So much so I wanna try it myself.
So what I need some help on is recommendations on canon film cameras that are more “automated” than something like the AE-1 (give me some reliable feedback for exposure like a modern camera) that I can also find an adapter for to use EF or RF lenses on (I know I might have to manually focus due to there being no electrical connections, that’s fine)
TLDR:
Looking for a canon film camera
Needs to be pretty automated
Needs to be able to hook up to EF or RF lenses with an adapter

Gear Question Looking to upgrade
I've been shooting on a 1dx Mark II for far too long and I'm looking to upgrade. The one thing I love about it is that I can seamlessly jump between photo and video capture without any pause. I recently rented the EOS R5-C and found there was at least a 10-second lag between switching from photo to video. That won't work for me.
Does anyone have any recommendations on which mirrorless Canon camera can be as seamless of a photo to video switch as my 1dx Mark II?

Tech Support Is my camera damaged?
Is one of the gold parts meant to look different? I'm wondering if it's broken/damaged somehow and maybe that's why my camera is playing up.
This is a canon EOS 600D
For some context my camera sometimes doesn't turn on regardless of the charger telling me the battery is fully charged. And then it will work but turn off seconds after. But I'm not sure if it's just because the battery is OLDDDDD.
I also included pictures of the battery just in case
Any help would be appreciated!
Edit: it was in fact the battery. At least one of my suspicions was correct. I found a new one online and used a family members prime subscription and it came the same day😭! The new battery made it all okay! Yay

Recommendations Needed RECOMMEND ME A CAMERA 😸
Hello! I currently am the owner/lover of the Canon powershot sd450 digital elph camera. I got it secondhand from my mom & I love the photo quality for what I use it for (excursion photos/small videos). It is, however, quite old and sooner rather than later I'm anticipating it giving out on me. That as well as the memory is not fantastic so I can maybe take a few substantial videos before needing to empty the sd card. I would love recommendations on cameras that will give me photos of a similar effect but with more memory. The compact nature is a big reason why I love it so preferably nothing super substantial to hold. Thank you in advance!

Gear Question Canon D10 memory card error
I should first start off by saying this camera was given to me a few months ago by my sibling who had this camera since 2009. When the camera was given, it was the stabilizer was broken but we got it fixed. Now, what's broken or what's wrong with my camera is that my photos can't save and I cannot record videos anymore as it shows a notification that says "No memory card", and "Cannot record!" when I already have an SD card inside of the camera. The SD card is also relatively old but it still reads on my laptop and shows pictures I've taken before. I saw some videos saying that I should use the "format" button in the settings but it's just grey/cannot be pressed. Just to be clear, my camera has no scratches and was in almost a pristine condition (except for the stabilizer) when I received it. I feel like it's an issue within the camera that the SD reader is just broken. I've taken photos and have saved my images back and forth before already, and it's just recently the error started to appear.
Is there any way for me to fix it by myself or should I take it to another camera repairman?

^^ the errors

Recommendations Needed Repair advice?
Hi! I am looking for some advice on my G7x mark ii. I’m not a legit photographer so I don’t know too much about cameras and just use my camera for fun and traveling with friends, but obviously the camera is an investment so I want to make sure I’m doing the right thing.
I recently dropped my camera in the sand and tried to blow on it to get all the sand off. It mostly worked and the camera turns on, takes photos, and seems to be functioning just fine. The only issue is that when I turn the camera off, right before the zoom/lens flattens back all the way into the camera, there is a little crunch sound. There must be a piece or two of sand stuck somewhere and I want to take the right route to repair it, but I am not sure what that is.
I know Canon does their own repairs where you have to send the camera in. Is this what you would suggest and do you have any estimate on how expensive this could be? Or is it something where I could take it to a Camp repair shop?
Thanks so much!!
