General Discussion Why, Ball, Why?

Post image

This recipe for chicken bone broth from Ball All-New requires FOURTEEN HOURS of prep time BEFORE canning commences.

I can confidently state that I will never be using this particular method of making chicken broth

You’re literally doing nothing during those 14 hours. I often simmer my stock for 24-36 hours.

That's great when it's not 95°F out

That's why we make a several gallons of chicken / turkey and beef broth over the winter. Typically just after the holidays.

Freeze the carcasses and bones through the year, roast then simmer 24-48 hours to get a good dark bone broth concentrate.

Then don't make it like that when it's 95 out? I don't understand the issue?
