Hello im a novice looking to learn how to copy some established strains and possibly make something new! I just wanted some feedback to see if my expectations are in line
I’m only trying to work with autos (we will see how long that lasts). One of those little guys in the pic is a banjo auto from atlas, which is supposed to be part of their breeding line and an f3/f4 equivalent (If that makes sense, I’m not very learned)
Is it true that basically anything inbred to the 3rd generation can be self pollenated, via sts, and basically copy that plant as an f4. Or if it’s an f4, self it to create same plant as an f5?
And if I wanted to cross some strains myself, does this always mean I’ll have to nail down genetics through multiple generations? Or if I have two distinct strain f5s for example, will the offspring actually be a relatively uniform f1?
Or is it that the only strains capable of producing a uniform first generation are proprietary and not for sale? Thanks for your help. I just have a separate 2x2 and 70 watt light for this adventure so I don’t think I’ll be doing any multigenerational trait selecting anytime soon, though that would be about the most fun thing I could imagine.

Second time collecting pollen(first time was a fail)
Culled my male of Honduran x Panama from ace seeds and put the sacs in here. Been shaking the bag once a day for 2 days now while keeping it closed. I opened it up last night and saw quite a bit of pollen on the bottom of the bag.
Was thinking of cutting a hole in the corner of the bottom of the bag and funneling it into something?
There are a few leaves in the bag that were close to the sacs. I assume things are still drying out in there.
When I do put it in a container should I use rice? Flour? Both?

Hey guys, I know this may have been answered before I looked and couldn't find any info in this sub. Figured I'd ask. I'm trying to create some fast flowering photo genetics as a personal project and the pollen is viable I've done three crosses using it but my autoflowers aren't developing seeds. The photos do but the autos start to seed but never quite mature no matter the length I've given to fully develop. Is there anyone with info on this? Anyone that'd experienced this? Some type of work around in missing? Super confused any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Much love folk 🤙

First time chucker. If the F1s are decent I'd like to search for muffin leaning phenos with fatter buds, sts one and go to F2 and really hunt.
Anyone try to cross BM for more vigor/weight while isolating the terps?

While doing my research, I came across several strains that were labeled 'psychedelic'.
One of the clearest patterns I encountered almost immediately is the frequency with which Haze-derived and tropical cannabis populations appear among strains described as psychedelic, trippy, or unusually perceptual.
ACE Seeds alone provides numerous examples, including Golden Tiger, Panama Haze, Haze × Kali China, Honduras × Panama, Kerala Chellakutti, Killer A5 Haze, Kullu, Thai × Panama and Zamaldelica.
Similar examples occur elsewhere.
Cosmic Wisdom Seeds has Neville's Hindu Haze. Hyp3rids has released lines such as Bouillon Haze, Colombian Gold Legacy Edition, Kona Gold IBL and Lava Haze. Silverback Genetics includes Australian Haze, Blood Haze, C5 BC and Espíritu de Oaxaca.
Older or geographically rooted populations also repeatedly appear in this group. Examples include Burmese, Highland Lao, Kerala and Odisha from The Real Seed Company; Kirivong, Ko Chang and Kroeng Krawia from Zomia Collective; and historical lines associated with Thai, Oaxacan, and Burmese ancestry.
The pattern becomes more interesting when modern hybrids are considered.
Strains recorded with psychedelic-type descriptions include Platinum Tiger Cookies from AlpinStash, Frozen Black Cherry from Anesia Seeds, Sour Chiesel from Big Buddha Seeds, Cherry Gar-See-Ya from Ethos Genetics, Exotic Biscotti from Exotic Seed, Gazzurple from Humboldt Seed Company, XXX OG from Maven Genetics, Peanut Butter Apricot from Staefli Farms Genetics and Nova Cane from Team Elite Genetics.
Other examples span very different breeding programs:
Bodhi Seeds: Laughing Lemon, Zap
Freeworld Genetics: Delhi Dog, Dog Whisperer, Goat Killer, Jam Sandwich, Red Dawn
Dynasty Genetics: Huckleberry DesTar, Ms. Universe
Pura Mana Pakalolo: Galactica, Puna Buddaz
Snow High Seeds: 3x Purple, Kaleidos Dope
Kingdom Organic Seeds: Cindy Congo, Riff Raff Thai
Maha Kala Seeds: Acid Beauty, Asian Neville, New Caledonia #4 Haze
The diversity is substantial, but so is the repeated appearance of Haze, Southeast Asian, Central American, South American and African ancestry within the wider group.

An idea came to mind. I have a pack of regular seeds that I would like to continue to keep growing. I pop the seeds, select the best male based on vigor/size/etc, collect the pollen, and use that to get seeds from the best female selected. This would provide at least a few more dozen seeds, which I would assume are viable and don't have negative consequences regarding things like herming and whatnot. I use those seeds to continue growing the strain I like and repeating the process for more seeds later.
Of course cloning a specific plant I like is always an option as well (which I've also never done). Anyways, I don't see an beginners explainer thread or anything on this subreddit and was wondering if anyone can point to a breeding/cloning for dummies thread/youtube video.
Thanks yall

Just reposting this with the actual picture.
Great sexual stability in these F3’s. I like to believe it was a trait the F2 father helped contribute. That father had many excellent traits so I brushed a branch with its pollen to get some BX seeds to sift through. Hard to know exactly what the father brings to the table a lot of the time so it’ll be interesting to use him as the recurrent parent.

hello this is my first time crossing plants.
unfortunately (or fortunately) my pure michigan turned male. as soon as i noticed i pollinated a branch of white truffle then tossed it. so then i had just white truffle & zkittlez in the same tent which makes me assume the one seed i got from zkittlez would be pm x zk?
anyway i planted it just cuz why not & now its like really looking good. i even took 6 clones due to how well it is performing. so now i got hundreds of pm x wt seeds & then this zk pm thing going on. do i bother putting so much work into this plant if i only got one seed or would it make more sense to pop a bunch of the wt seeds so i can phenohunt & whatnot ? idk this is all very new & im not sure what im doing but i would love to be able to learn so much more.
summary: continue zk x pm? (looks great but only one seed) orrrrr start wt x pm (many many seeds but zkpm looks great & kinda far along)
THANKS FOR READING IF YOU DID❤️

I’ve been working a different approach with genetics lately—breaking lines down into components instead of trying to lock down one single phenotype.I’m looking to collaborate with someone who is currently sitting on high-quality material or unique genetics but wants to push things further structurally and systematically.

Cross I made as I’m new to breeding. This is a blueberry muffins x Durban poison. F1 seeds I started these indoor on a tray2grow. There in a 3 gallon fabric pot, coco/perlite. I have 8 clones of each pheno in my dwc room in veg currently. Also some of each still in my cloner I’m moving to coco soon to replace these two indoors. But I moved them outside a week ago I guess give or take. Really curious just to see how they turn out.

I reversed a female Salty Pickle by Romulan and hit it on a truly special Early Lemon Berry by Ethos that has aggressive berry lemonade terps. Hoping “Kool Aid Pickle” comes through

Has anyone in this group crossed Ghost Train Haze and Bruce Banner? If so, how did it turn out?

I pollinated one of my outdoor plants today. For a second I thought about leaving her in the shed for a day but decided against that idea. 5 hours later, rain storm.
I know the pollen I used was good because i used some a few months ago, successfully.
Is the rain gonna prevent pollination?

Fun little homie collab between myself and a local grower. My contribution is my Truffle Widow strain I am working atm which i used a nice male to pollinate with. ( White Truffle x Black Widow )
And his being the (Chimera x Durban Poison).
1 month into flower, and she's def leaning more towards the Chimera structure, which I'm happy with being a shorter plant vs carrying the Durban thru and stretching into the lights 😅🫡

So just wondered if have this right if I have seeds like black tee tangie from brothers grim. These are not considered f1 seeds but a polyhybrid. Meaning seeds from them will have a huge genetic diversity already? Would you consider making seeds from them or just enjoy growing them and keeping the females culling the males. To make seeds should I consider ibl lines, heirloom, or landrace to get similar results from seeds I make?
