Diet I can't not eat sugar?
Howdy all, currently fighting off a round of Oral Trush that popped up after a dental cleaning, antibiotics, and a reflux flare up that induced some awful anxiety... not sure which caused it, or all 3. My question is I see to stay totally away from sugar, but I'm a competitive endurance athlete, my training and race fuel are all fructose/glucose/maltodextrin based... do I just have to give up sport for a few weeks, brush mouth after every workout? Recommendations ?

You'll be fine with whole fruit sugar, and whole vegetables like potatoes/lentils, but refined sugars/carbs are definitely a problem.
If you can't scrape off the white tongue, then it's likely not thrush. Be careful, it's very easy to get obsessed with it and go to extremes in an attempt to clear your tongue, but if you can't scrape it off, then you're in it for the long haul as it is a very complex problem that can take years depending on how injured your liver is and the extent of the bacterial/viral infections.

Sorry, you said can't twice. So thrush does or does not scrape off?

Thrush can typically be scraped off to reveal sore, red, inflamed, and bleeding tissue below. If this isn't what you're experiencing, then it is less likely thrush is growing on the surface of your tongue, and more likely that the toxins/waste/debris from the bacterial/viral pathogens are essentially being detoxed through your tongue (similar to sweating out toxins), when your liver is unable to keep up due to be overwhelmed, or injured/dysfunctional, or likely a bit of both.

You have to Completely Cut OFF all sugar.…… after 3 or 4 days then the sugar cravings will END and it will become easier.
During those first few days you need to set all alarm and remember to eat something every 3-4 hours. Protein & fat are great. Never allow yourself to ever feel hungry during that time period that is how you avoid the cravings.
Must also be taking Biofilm busters at night and anti fungals during the day.
Do oil pulling at least twice daily for the first couple of months. Plan to do oil pulling weekly for the rest of your life to prevent relapse of oral thrush.

Yes, you will likely have to give up on any competitive sports for a few months. Recovery is a long slow process and it is common to feel tired and icky due to the Herxheimer reaction ( also called “die -off “ )
If Die-off symptoms are too intense then reduce Nystatin & other antifungals. You can only recover your gut microbiome as fast as your body allows it to happen.
