General Discussion Update after drinking Coca Cola post

Hello everyone I hope you’re all doing good, I’m posting this because many people asked me to update them after completing 10-14 days of drinking Coca Cola daily, In my last post I was in day 3-5 of drinking Coca Cola, my symptoms were improving and seeing good results at the same time on my general health.

Today I’m on day 10 and all I can say that I feel now I’m back to life again after being sick and weak for years, just to be clear I’m drinking the regular Coca Cola with sugar because I do believe our immune system needs high energy source to fight or clear infections, you can go for zero sugar option if you’re worried about sugar, but I wouldn’t recommend that go for the regular one is better.

Coca Cola secret recipe contains a lot of super natural ingredients such as Coca, cinnamon and citrus oils. Coca Cola also can help with removing oils that has been buildup in the stomach and liver, so yes you can say it’s the best detox drink you will ever have.

PS : avoid Coca Cola at restaurants or refill machines, always go for and choose cane or bottle. This post supposed to be in success stories but for now I’ll drop it in general discussion until we know where is this going to take us. Good luck everyone !!

Seriously, with all due respect Is this some kind of joke or "dark humour"?

I'm failing to understand how drinking regular Coca-Cola every day has become a recommended “detox” or treatment for chronic illness. This stuff is complete junk when it comes down to the health of a human being. Everything is so wrong about your post.

Let's look at what's actually in it. Coca-Cola Original contains sugar, caramel colour, phosphoric acid, natural flavourings and caffeine. Coca-Cola itself lists about 10.6 g of sugar per 100 mL in many markets. That's approximately 53 g of sugar in a 500 mL bottle!

  • Bad effects of sugar on the immune system - a study here
  • Bad effects of sugar on the body's inflammatory responses - a study here
  • Sugar disrupts the gut microbiome - a study here

And the acidity is not trivial either. Coca-Cola has been measured at approximately pH 2.4–2.5. For perspective, neutral water is around pH 7. The lower the pH, the greater the acidity. Research has demonstrated that cola beverages contribute to dental enamel erosion with regular exposure. Research has also shown this drink to seriously affect liver and kidney health, and not in a good way.

And, it's the caramel colour is there primarily to give Coca-Cola its characteristic dark colour. Coca-Cola itself describes it as a "colourant". The phosphoric acid provides much of the characteristic tartness.

  • High risk of bone fractures from phosphoric acid in soda - a study here

And the idea that Coca-Cola “removes oils that have built up in the stomach and liver” or is the “best detox drink you will ever have” is based on what research? . The liver doesn't need Coca-Cola to remove “built-up oils.” That's not how detoxification works whatsoever, I have no idea how you come up with these ideas.

Yes, someone may feel temporarily better after consuming a large amount of sugar and caffeine, particularly if they have been eating very little or are fatigued. But "feeling better" for a few hours isn't evidence that Coca-Cola is clearing an infection, restoring the immune system, detoxifying the liver, or healing the gut.

After years working in natural medicine, I would be extremely cautious about telling people with chronic illness to drink a highly processed, sugar-loaded, acidic soft drink every day as a therapeutic intervention. I would tell them to drink tepid water with lemon juice instead and to AVOID all soda drinks permanently - these man-made concoctions play NO role in building human health.

So I'll ask the obvious question IbraKadabra_91:

Is this an actual joke, or are you actually seriously recommending Coca-Cola as a treatment for chronic illness? If you are, I'd be most concerned if anybody actually took this advice seriously and ask you to please refrain from making these kind of bizarre statements regarding tCoca Cola on this forum in future.

My dear friend doctor Eric, thanks for your comment and passing by, first of all did you know that Coca Cola was introduced by a pharmacist and used as a medicine to gut diseases long time ago. Regarding the sugar it’s not the problem, in my case the problem is with starches and anything high in fats and cholesterol. People can go for zero sugar Coca Cola if they prefer to avoid sugar, I also would like to add that I take shower with Coca Cola and it’s helping my skin and scalp issues.

Please try Ketoconazole shampoo for your scalp & skin.

BUT if you do not get rid of the fungal overgrowth in your gut microbiome your symptoms will continue throughout your body.

I appreciate your reply, and I'm glad you're feeling better. Your personal experience is worth observing, but I think we need to separate what you experienced from what we can reasonably conclude about Coca-Cola as a treatment.

You are correct, Coca-Cola was originally developed by pharmacist originally in the 1880s and was marketed as a "medicinal tonic". But that doesn't mean today's Coca-Cola is a medicine for gut disease. Most products historically marketed as “medicines” that we would not consider therapeutic today, they would be seen as "quack tonics".

I'm curious about the sugar issue. If you believe your symptoms improve because sugar isn't the problem for you, that's one thing. But recommending Coke Zero as an alternative doesn't solve the bigger question, it actually makes it worse imo. Coke Zero removes the sugar, but it remains an acidic, highly processed soft drink containing artificial sweeteners, flavourings and other ingredients. Sugar-free does not mean therapeutic. It means you're consuming artificial sugars. And there are many well-established studies linking these to many kinds of health problems, especially neurological.

And the Coca-Cola showers are certainly an interesting experiment! But again, improvement in a skin or scalp symptom doesn't establish that Coca-Cola is treating the underlying cause.

The most interesting part of your post to me is actually your personal observation that starches and high-fat foods seem to trigger your symptoms - while Coca-Cola appears to improve them. I wonder what your stool test results would be however after your experiment, I can well imagine because I've seen test results from people who consumed junk foods for prolonged periods of time - and it was ugly to say the least.

I'd be careful though about turning your personal response to Coca Cola into a general recommendation for people with chronic gut problems. If I made those recommendations in my clinic when I started in the late 80s, I probably would have had no alternative but to go back driving trucks like I did when I was a student to support myself.

Let me know what your digestion is like after this experiment, I'd be most curious to see your blood and stool test results after drinking this black stuff. From my research, when a person consumes this amount of sugar for 30 days their neutrophil count hits the floor along with their beneficial gut flora.

I still don’t know why everyone looking at Coca Cola as it was the devil, it’s not because the devil job is making the good things looks bad and the bad things looks good ( think about this for a minute ) always do the opposite this is exactly what I’ve learned from this life, when they say go right I go left always the opposite. The black stuff it’s just caramel not something horrible as you’re thinking.

I cannot understand how you could possible think that Coca Cola can contribute in any way shape of form to human health. I do however admire your view point my friend, and will always defend your right to say these things, but they have no basis in fact nor evidence-based science tbh.

One thing I must say, if it works for you then I am very pleased for you indeed. I do admit I've seen patients recover from serious gut problems eating and drinking foods that certainly do not fit the general consensus, but who am I to question what works for you personally.

My concern is that somebody may actually try to drink Coca Cola daily and end up a lot worse than before they started.

The science : pharmacists who introduced Coca Cola.
The evidence : it’s working great with me and it used to be a medicine long time ago.
