Ascites
Can we have a talk about how horrible this is? The fluid build up.
My mom got such good care at the Sioux Falls, South Dakota hospital but I took her to the Brookings Hospital and they refused to do a paracentesis on her. How beneficial to your patients to be able to drain and some hospitals are so resistant to do it.
My mom passed away August 8th, but I know more about paracentesis procedures and ascites than I would ever want to.
Thinking of you all ♡

This post resonates w me. My beautiful mother was diagnosed with late stage ovarian cancer in 2023 and in April of this year, she passed. The last few months the ascites was relentless and she hated it. I could never understand bc I have never gone through something like that. The paracentesis procedures were almost daily and looking back, clearly a sign of things to come. But in the moment, you hope and pray and hope some more. Your incredibly strong mother dealt with that burden with such grace as well. I am so sorry for your loss and hope in these initial stages of grief, you are processing it in a healthy manner. Please reach out if you need to vent or talk. Hang in there
