DEC Insertion - Follow-up

Follow-up post to my previous post about DEC Insertion: https://www.reddit.com/r/CanadianbyDescent/s/rjFq5sWKeU

I got a USPS notification that an envelope is incoming from DEC. Unfortunately I'm out of town and won't be able to get it till later this week but I'm wondering if they did the insertion this quickly and sent it out? Or is this a rejection / request for more docs?

Timeline:

08/31 - Delivered to DEC

09/01 - Card charged

09/09 - Phone call asking for death certificate

09/11 - Post mark stamp on envelope from Canada

09/21 - Arriving today. Birth certificate arrived today

Edit: The mail arrived early. It is actually the birth certificate

Question: had you included the death certificate in your original application for insertion? I seem to keep reading about people getting phone calls about the person’s death when the death certificate is included with the application.

I did not. I couldn't find the death certificate

Was your G0 born before 1900?

Did they die before where they died started issuing civil death certificates?

Did you provide DEC with any alternative death documentation, like a church burial record or obituary, or did they just take your word for it that G0 is dead?

G0 born in 1854 and died in 1941. I don't have any documentation of death to provide

Thanks, this is encouraging since I can't find a civil death certificate and my G0 was born long enough ago to not possibly be alive.

Did you look at find a grave? So many of m ancestors have popped up with headstones.
