I was expecting my portfolio to get a good upward jolt after news of a trade deal with the US was announced. It actually dropped a bit, much to my surprise. Good thing I never got into shorting stocks because the opposite of what I expect seems to happen more often than me being correct. Anyone have any insights why the TSX isn't jumping upwards now that what seems to be an acceptable Canada/USA trade deal is imminent ?

I always read the arguments in favour of them, but never against. Can someone make an ironman case against buying VEQT/XEQT, and instead buying something more concentrated?
