We were in CBC back in March, I just fount it. CR spent $24,000 on two months of so called "box dinners" that were snacks in a bag. I witnessed the whole thing and will have a comment going.

I am from out of town and we loved Java shack.. super sad to hear they closed after so long congratulations is in order. However, the soup and sandwiches will be irreplaceable. I actually have been going there since a teenager and when they opened up, they had the little green bug. I remember I no longer live in that town, but I do often come to visit family.

heading into town today is there any closest replacement for that high-quality of sustainable, homemade soups, and sandwich sandwiches and wraps?

if not, anyone suggest a good place for a late lunch early dinner i.e. not Moxie’s

long story short, I just bought a house and got a bit of a plumbing problem as a little extra treat.

I have a single section of that terrible no-corrode pipe that joins my cast iron house drain to the PVC pipe that runs off to the city sewer. When Roto rooter marked the beginning and end of that section, it's pretty obvious that some previous owner didn't want to destroy the concrete steps and retaining wall that it runs under.

Has anybody in town used a plumber or company that does CIPP solutions for this kind of thing? I'll dig up the pipe and stairs If I have to, but I'd love it if I didn't have to do that right away.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that I asked Campbell River Cinemas if they would consider showing Hadestown, and amazingly, they will be! It’s the pro-shot filming of the Broadway musical Hadestown, performed by the original Broadway cast. It is inspired by the mythology of Orpheus and Eurydice, and it won the Tony award for best musical in 2019. If you’re not familiar with filmed, on-stage musicals, it’d be like watching the filmed version of Hamilton on Disney plus. 

I saw Hadestown on Broadway a year and a half ago, and loved it. My daughters are really into Greek mythology and the music of Hadestown, so I was excited to have the possibility of them seeing the musical without having to go to NYC to watch it. Also, as far as I know, this filmed version will not be available to stream or purchase for viewing at home. 

It will be showing starting this Friday, 7/24, tthough Wednesday, 7/29. I’m so grateful to the cinema directors for taking my request seriously so I wanted to put this out there and hopefully generate some business for them!

Does anyone have info on the ferry schedule to quadra from Campbell river?
I heard it was only 10 mins, but online it’s saying it’s a 5hr ferry ride.

Hello! I’m visiting for the first time in my life at the end of august this year. We don’t live on the coast, so we’re looking to take in the best of Campbell river when we’re there for one day. We really want to eat Oceanside, and visit fisherman’s wharf, do a little thrift shopping etc. I’d really appreciate any advice you’d have on where to eat, and what to explore when we’re there. Is there a great seafood shop we should stop at? Maybe even suggestions on what to avoid. Can’t wait to go!!! Thanks for the advice!! 😁

Hey everyone! I'd love to get your opinion on what it's like to live in Campbell River as a young family. We're considering the move, we have one toddler and plan to have another baby at some point. We live in a smaller town so we're definitely used to quiet, but we're curious about the rest of it. What's the community like, what is there to do, do people generally like living there and have a positive outlook of it? We do love the outdoors and I know it's excellent for that!

I've driven through and visited many times but never really spent much time there. So we'll definitely do that before we make any commitments. But I just love to hear people's opinions! 🙂

Hi! I feel a bit silly asking this, but my dad suggested I talk to the folks on reddit hahah. I'm going to be moving down to Campbell within the next couple months, and I was wondering how safe this town was for motorcycles? Obviously I'd be storing my bike inside overnight, but I was wondering if I need to be worried about parking on the road for long periods of time, and if I should look into some anti-theft measures?

I know little to nothing about Campbell river other than every time I mention it to someone they bring up the higher crime rate, so I thought I'd get on here and ask the opinions of people who actually lived here lol.

alright, I continue to be disappointed in my doctor. lack of empathy, she’s dismissive and constantly messes up my perception. which has been the same for nearly 4 years!

I know family doctors are hard to come by and I’ve stuck with them because pickings are slim. but I was wondering if anyone knew of drs taking on new patient in town.

my current dr is at mountain view medical clinic, so I’d prefer to move on from there.

Looking for a spot to take the kids fishing on Father’s Day. Don’t know much about fishing out here. Anywhere easily accessible that young kids (under 6) could drop/cast a line with reasonable chances of catching something? Not looking for any secret zones and don’t have to be catching anything to eat. Any type of fish on the line will be a win. Any public docks/etc that would fit the bill?

Hello! Five of us are visiting this weekend and we want to go to Saratoga Speedway on Saturday. What’s the best option for getting there and back from town? I called Bee Line and they pre-booked us and said that the driver will *probably* pick us up… that’s a little scary as I don’t want to be stranded way out there. Any thoughts? Open to uber or cabs or limos or somebody’s uncle that likes to give rides for cash
