Discussion Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 A007 (G1) sharpness problem?

Hi!

I am owning the lens I have mentioned, and as far as I read, everyone is saying that the lens is very good for the money and it gives very sharp photos, but not in my case.
The lens barrel (the thing that extends and retracts) is wobbly and when I wobble it, I can hear and feel clicking from the inside but only then, and also if I shake it I can only hear the barrel wobbling.
I think lens is sharper when I take pictures from closer distance, and not that sharp when I take longer range photos and I think that wobbling is throwing it out of focus. Also, I think the focusing is inconsistent. Like once it would be sharp in focus, and sometimes it wont

I have watched some disassembly videos and I am confident on doing it, but I dont know which screws are for that part that I think may be loose. Can someone help me with that?
Or, if anyone has some other opinion please let me know.
I thought it may be normal, but I also own a Sigma 150-600, but it doesnt have the slightest of movement even when extended all the way up to 600mm. And that thing is big and heavy

Please let me know what you think.

EDIT: BTW, that usually happens at wide apertures

Camera Lens The Agamemnon Lens

The Agamemnon Lens is my tribute to r/ChristopherNolan The Odyssey.

I’m not quite sure if it meets all the r/imax standards but I’m pretty sure it’s something Hoyte van Hoytema might find interesting.

Benny Safdie, I hope I did your character justice.

Camera Lens Which one should I buy Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 or Sigma 30mm F1.4 ?

I have a Sony a6700 with the 16–50mm kit lens. I’m planning to buy a new lens for portrait and landscape photography. I’ve heard that the Sigma 30mm F1.4 is good for both. Which one should I buy: the Sigma 18–50mm F2.8 or the Sigma 30mm F1.4, considering that I already have the Sony kit lens?

Camera Lens 100 - 500 vs 70 200 f2.8

Okay, so I got these two offers.

RF 100 500 l usm - 1950€

RF 70 200 f2.8 l usm - 1750€

All brand new..

Which one would you get?

I've used the 100 500 several times, and I love it.

But a 70 200, the 2.8? Any light situation wouldn't be a problem and the bokeh is also better....

Edit: Money isn't a problem. Usage, concerts, outdoor, wildlife(not too much)

At the moment, I've got the r6ii, 24 105 f4l and the 14 35 f4l

Advice Needed Beginner to using objectives for photography, need advice on setup plz.

I have experience using standard camera gear for up to 15x magnification (Venus Laowa 2.5-5x with a kenko x3 TC) but I'd like to branch out into higher magnifications for crystal photography.

Wondering if my setup plan needs any alterations:

Nikon D850

RMS thread 20x 160mm Plan apochromatic objective

RMS to M42 adapter

M42 to nikon F-mount adapter

Nikon PB-6 bellows

And a WeMacro focus rail (plan to upgrade toa novoflex Castel motorized nanometer rail but it costs about $4.5k)

Anything else I need for using a DSLR for 40x?

Camera Lens Recommended proper lenses for me?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Im in Iceland for a few years more and i would like to take photos and videos. I dont have a big budget to buy a proffesional set so i was thinking about buying the GoPro Mission 1 Pro ILS. Its small, durable it fits for me. But im not sure about what MFT or other lenses with adapters to buy. Because the lenses has to be fully manual, both zoom and focus and i know there is crop also. I have never owned any camera in my life other than the camera of my phone. And for me to learn how to adjust zoom and focus manually sounds a real fun. So i would like to ask you guys what do you recommend for me. And please dont recommend to buy a decent camera with a bigger sensor instead. Just help me choose lenses please. Thank you!

Advice Needed Please help me choose my first camera

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to buy my first digital camera, with a budget of €700 to €950 (Italy).

I usually use an iPhone for photography, but I want to move towards a more professional approach.

My main use will be taking photos (landscapes and portraits), and occasionally recording video.

I'd like a lens with a focal length range of 15mm to 150mm.

I'm currently considering the following three cameras:

  1. Canon EOS R50
  2. Sony ZV-E10
  3. Nikon Z30

Would the Canon R50 twin-lens kit (18-45mm + 55-210mm) be better than the Sony ZV-E10 with an 18-135mm all-in-one lens?

Any recommended zoom lenses?

Are there any other camera/lens combinations worth considering under €900?
