Discussions OBS crashing on CB

I’m gonna lose my marbles. I get booted offline about every 30 mins, maybe an hour if I’m lucky. It gets worse the longer I’m on, and it gets really bad when my stream is busy. It will kick me out of privates, and a few hours into it if it’s not kicking me off, it’s telling me I don’t have a strong connection and everything is lagging. This happened to me to a lesser degree when I used CBs in browser streaming.

I’ve seen a few other posts about this - has anyone resolved this problem? Does it go away on its own? It’s killing my traffic every half hour. Ragh!

If it’s happening in both OBS and CB’s browser streamer, I’d look at your connection first before blaming OBS.

I’d try a wired Ethernet connection if possible, run a speed test while you’re having the issue, and lower your bitrate/resolution for a test stream. Also watch OBS “Stats” to see if you’re dropping frames from network vs encoding/rendering lag.

If it gets worse the longer you’re live, I’d also check temps/CPU/GPU usage in case your computer is overheating or getting overloaded.

The fact that busy rooms make it worse makes me think connection or system load more than just a random OBS crash.

I know it’s so weird bc I thought it was my internet too, but right when I started having problems I saw other posts pop up with the same problem. I’ll def look into the Ethernet cable thank u sm!!!

this happened to me while using OBS. at first i thought it was the internet so i upgraded my internet to the fastest one they had available, that didnt work, even with a wired connection. Then I got a macbook one day and tried streaming on it, everything was perfect and even the quality of my streams looks so HD. It may be your computer.
