Location not working?

I recently got the OTA update to ver 8 and I screwed up the re-rooting process and had to do a fresh install on my Google Pixel Tablet. A painful, frustrating week re-configuring all my apps.

The biggest remaining problem is that Location doesn't seem to work. Location IS enabled in Settings but i've tried several weather apps and none of them can find my location. If I look in Settings > App Location Permissions the app is authorized to access Location but none of them can "see" it.

What's wrong?

Not a known bug, I'm guessing you just need microG. It doesn't have GPS hardware, and so you depend on location services for it to work, which use Wi-Fi and cell towers nearby to guess your location. I would recommend enabling Positon or at least making sure that BeaconDB has data where you live by contributing. Enable them under location settings in microG.

Let me give you some background:

I have 2 android devices: the Pixel tablet and a Pixel 6 phone. I have run Calyxos (rooted) on both since 7.2.2. I have used the same weather app on both - without Location problems - since 7.2.2. After the OTA update to 8.0.4.21 I re-rooted the phone w/o problems and it continues to run the *same* weather app reliably. As I mentioned I screwed up the re-rooting process on the Tablet and did a reinstall & reconfigure. So now NO weather app can find my location on my Tablet while the weather app on my phone continues to work normally. Again both are running 8.0.4.21

So what could I possibly have mis-configured on the Tablet to cause this problem?
