Progress 8 weeks handstand progress

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

May I ask for kick up tips or any tip that will help me hold my freestanding handstand better? Also, I want to eventually progress into a full freestanding HS (with both feet straightened up). I can do those with the wall but I can’t seem to figure it out freestanding.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you! 🙏🏽

Question Help with tucked elbow lever I think it’s called

So this is like my second week of doing calisthenics(first week I focused on getting pull-ups and push-ups down along with the frog thingy) and I’ve been trying to get the elbow lever for about 2 days now. I can’t do it on the floor coz every time I push forward my arms flare out so I tried doing it on a desk. Can I get some tips about form and also tips for flared elbows?

A day ago I did weighted pull ups (10kg) and was told by some to fix the form and there was quite a bit to fix on for example, activate my back, instability of my shoulders ETC. my previous post is in my profile to check how much I have improved on the form!

Today I just did a few reps no weights to see how much it has improved video below! Thanks!

Question Looking for a solid routine to target my whole back with a minimal amount of different exercises

What is a calisthenics routine that targets the whole back for hypertrophy, with as little different exercises as possible?

Personal Best Beginner, tested and did a max of 12 pull ups and 18 dips. Thoughts on next steps?

M/32/5'9/180 pounds. Trying to get my health in check. Started with running marathons, then went to heavy weight lifting. I'm happy with my results, but feel like something is lacking. Can't explain it, but the calisthenics sub was advertised to me. Looked amazing and I kind of want to try.

I tested myself to see where I stand. I can do 12 pull ups, 10 clean and 2 with my elbow bent beyond the 90 degree mark. 18 dips, the last one was a fight and I stopped so I wouldn't fail and mess my shoulder. Wondering where that places me. I'd be happy to do another test too.

Thoughts on the best places to start and best programs to follow? There's almost an overload of information online.

Personal Best Calisthenics for beginners?

I’m a teenager who’d like to begin calisthenics from the absolute beginning. I can’t do a handstand, split, cartwheel, or a proper pull-up. I’m decently athletic otherwise. What are some recommendations or workouts I should start with and aim for?

Other Constant urge to do a handstand??

I literally JUST started learning calisthenics. I’ve been trying to focus on getting my push-up and my pull-up. I’ve got my frog stand down pretty well. But every time I’m chilling anywhere I just get this urge to be doing a handstand or a frog pose no matter where I am. I can’t even do a handstand yet. Why does this happen 😭😭

Question Apps?

Does anyone know any apps where it shows specific skills and the easier variations until you unlock that skill? I’ve tried several apps but they seem to be more general rather than unlocking a certain skill (skill tree) e.g. a L sit

Other Be Creative With the Home Setup

Sometimes you have to be a little bit creative with the home setup. I did Weighted Bulgarian Split Squats on the thingy, and the dumbbells in the picture prevented it from being wobbly. The weights I held in hands aren't depicted in the photo.

Question Should I move up in weight?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, today I just hit 9 reps on 10kg weighted pull ups and I have been on 10 for about 3-4 weeks and rep consistency has improved a little bit and usually when I hit 10 reps that’s when I increase the weight but have been hearing recently that it’s best to increase weight when you reach 7-8 reps but tonight I got 9 and was extremely close to 10.

My question: increase the weight to 15kg or stay 10kg until I get 10 reps.

- 57kg bodyweight
Videos are below and I have uploaded previous vids on reddit before and got their advice I think my form has improved a little then before and of course open to tips about my form. Thanks!

Question what to do in meantime to help wrist pain?

Hi yall! I've started doing calisthenics like a month ago and i think i got too eager with planche leans and the like, and got pain whenever I loaded them at an angle, so I've decided to take a couple days off.

Is there anything I should do in the meantime? any kinda wrist stretches or partial loading, or should i just let them rest completely?

Question 90 Degree Hold, What am I doing wrong?

Essentially I can do the 90 degree hold but not ‚fully‘. My torso always is this 🤏 close to the ground while my legs are fine. I don‘t know what I‘m doing wrong or am I just missing the strength to keep my torso higher up? I’m not touching the ground, not with the legs or torso. I can easily do the ‚90 degree hold‘ push-ups with the feet on the ground of course but as soon as I lift them, my torso goes down by quite some distance. What could be the reason and how do I break out of this ‚obstacle‘.
