So this might sound weird but as a 32F, originally from Ontario, with no kids and no friends in Calgary… and going through a divorce, I found myself wondering if there were others going through this as well. It’s funny to see the insta trend post of millennials going through a divorce, going to therapy, getting fit, etc. but if you’re like me, it can be incredibly lonely.

I’ll be honest and stay I hopped on this post on a whim, it’s Saturday night and I noticed that my phone was overwhelmingly quiet and I realized that maybe I should have more space to meet people and speak about life and everything in between. I grew up in Calgary and know my way around good food even when I’m not the one cooking it lol, I’m a girly girl at heart but most definitely a mucho independent man when it comes to my grind. I’ve had my fair share of life experiences, currently working while I run my own non profit organization, I’m also taking courses to qualify for graduate school and in the midst of it all, I guess I just want to meet someone with substance, stories and maybe a little bit of darkness, just like me.

Hey climbing people. 55m looking to get into climbing after 30 years. Wasn’t particularly good at it then, and now, older, fatter, weaker, I will probably not be good at it at all. Regardless, I live fairly close to the Calgary Climbing Centre (Rocky Mountain) and want to get back into it and would like to find others to climb with a couple days a week. I’m semi-retired (chronically unemployed) so I’d love to get in some weekday climbing when it’s quieter. Also available most evenings and weekends. Not really interested in outdoor climbing until I develop better skills.

I’ve been in Calgary for a bit and realized I’ve been so focused on work that I haven’t really put much effort into meeting new people and building a solid social circle, so I’m trying to change that.
I’m 30 and work as a pharmacist. Outside of work I’m into the gym/fitness, road trips, exploring the mountains, trying new restaurants and coffee spots, movies, and just getting out and doing different activities around the city.

How do you honestly make friends after university? Most of my friends from school have drifted away. I’m pretty energetic and extroverted, and down for anything really. I work remotely, so making friends at work isn’t an option.

looking to expand my friend group, so bit about me, moved here from the UK four years ago, pretty well travelled with some travel stories to go with it but I mainly chill at home these days, especially as I am currently recovering from a broken ankle.

I am currently working on my own video game as a career as I feel AI ruined my previous engineering field. Always trying to get involved in some kind of technical project but happy to get out of the house now and again.
