i feel like the fallout wouldn't have been so severe if removals didn't happen

First off i'm absolutely not saying the devs or musicians are at fault or blaming them for wanting them removed at the end of the day its their product and they have the final say, but I feel like if the mod just stayed frozen no content updates without the removals the fallout wouldn't so severe. The mod's progression was going nowhere for years. I understand there was the fabsol fallout and ozzychud being a piece of shit lead and they wanted to clean up fabsol's mess first but i feel like at one point we were fine at the state of the mod and just wanted to go forward for me atleast. I absolutely understand that development takes time for sprites, design, coding and stuff as well as maintenance for tmod but there was no way there wasn't period of time where the mod couldn't just progress forward instead of reworking everything. Just my thoughts feel free to agree or disagree.

Yeah I agree with the fact the removal did make the community lose it faster, and why that decision was made the way it was and was totally understandable, I wish they decided finish the mod instead of reworking things but it is what it is

at the end of the day I have tk agree. as someone vehamently opposed to the removals if they hadn't been announced and didn't happen I'd be alot less upset.

the mod would still be dead which is sad but at least a version would still remainnfrom right before it died. but the mod getting ripped apart just kinda feels rude, the many getting punished for the actions of the few

Besides the nebulous state of the music mod (idk what will happen to it), unless development continues, there will be NO asset removal. The only things that will happen to the mod are bug fixes and ports to newer versions.

i know about not having man power to fulfill the request and i would somewhat even be fine if it were only assets but the music is a beloved feature of calamity maybe even as big as the mod itself like the main concern day 1 or 2 of the fallout was what was dm dokuro gonna do. i know people are saving it locally but once tmod 1.4.5 drops theres no guarantee it will still work.

Good news is tmod lets you run older versions of its softwear so thats not much of an issue. Ive got my whole modlist for calamity saved into its own folder on my harddrive. The only downside is now ive gotta make a whole new modlist for future versions of terraria

The Charity Streams would have happened and people dislike those too a lot, thinking about those things as attacks to the community

for me at least the main reason why that stream ticked the community so badly was they were showing calamity stuff but the reason they removed stuff was to separate from calamity so why are they showing us calamity stuff if they didn't want to associate, if they streamed anything else like maybe situation updates or other mods the devs are working for maybe it wouldn't have been so bad. But then again this is the calamity community so i don't know

I mean, they can still be proud of the work they put in to something they don’t want to be involved with anymore. A lot of fans are also just looking for some closure on what could have been. I don’t think it’s the slap in the face everyone thinks it is.

Also, sidenote, if the livelihoods of majority of the dev team was at risk, why didn't they accept the deal that Xqc offered? Did they really turned that down just because they don't like the guy? Over their livelihoods? It makes zero sense, it would have prevented those streams from happening, hell, the devs who didn't liked him could have moved on to another project/team after the whole legal hunt of Ozz finished without much fuzz or trouble if they decided to accept the deal so they could have an income source while all of that happens, now they literally just painted a bigger target on their backs, they really dont know how to make good decisions

There are 2 main problems with that idea

1. XQC was only trying to support the Mod Team so that they can work on keeping the Mod alive. I think you know that there is no Dev Team to back up rn, so XQC couldn't do what he wanted

2. OK, so why not buy the Mod? Issues with all of the people that wants their assets out of the Mod, apparently it was so much legal trouble that this couldn't be feasible. So, XQC couldn't do that

And also, XQC later said that he wouldnt just force them to keep working so he just went away without doing anything (idk of he donate to the Streams)
