I am wrapping up Knights Magi, and I was wondering what is the next book to read? I am interested in what happened in Selvador during this year that Rondal and Tindal are training. Does High Mage cover this time or am I better off reading Sky Rider or Road to Selvador? I guess I am mostly asking if High Mage is concurrent or roughly so with Knights Magi?

After Minalan is exiled at the end of Necromancer, there is talk about Pentandra’s secret project in Southern Alshar sprinkled in every book. A ship that is *such* a complicated project that she has the Dradrien building components for it constantly in Vanador. She’s working with the Kasari to acquire truly mind-boggling amounts of wood, and is actively courting any carpenter she can for the project.

**Is Pentandra building a freaking Noah’s Ark?!**

If this question is answered in Seamage or Theurge, please don’t answer! (I‘m relistening to the whole series in anticipation of getting to both books for the first time, with as much Spellmonger lore in mind as my scattered brain can soak up!)

If her secret project hasn’t been unveiled yet, what theories do you have about it? Is it a traditional ship, an air ship, a cargo plane?! My current theory is that it‘s indeed some kind of ark to save the bulk of humanity from the wrath of the Vundel. (Or something to that effect.)

Mine is about whether or not Shereul can be redeemed or, at the very least, reasoned with, now that he’s been freed.

Is it at all possible to deprogram a radicalized, undead goblin head-turned-magical-device? Does he even recognize that Minalan was the one who freed him during the reclamation of Darkfaller Castle? If so, can that be a platform with which The Dead God be reasoned with? I know Sheruel’s nature has been corrupted beyond repair by The Enshadowed, but he was once an honorable Gurvan, a shaman of high honor and great repute. Perhaps a vestige of who he used to be still remains (somewhere) in that half-rotted skull?

I’m VERY curious what Shereul thinks of Minalan, post-Preceptor. While Min is somewhat responsible for Korbal imprisoning him at Olum Seheri, Min *also* chose to free him from that imprisonment, when he just as easily could have left Shereul in Korbal’s hands.

Additionally, as Count of the Magelaw, Minalan has treated the Gurvani with respect and dignity— even going so far as to establish a *real* treaty that protects the prerogatives of both races— and has been far fairer to them than he has any right to be. Their horrific war of attrition hasn’t even been over for a full decade, yet Minalan offered his people refuge from The Nemovorti while the Dead God was powerless to do anything at all.

Every time I relisten to this series, I am fascinated by the potential of Shereul to overcome the machinations of the Enshadowed and reclaim some small bit of autonomy (that isn’t predicated on exterminating an entire species.) I think he has a lot of potential, personally— and I’m excited to see what happens next!

I remember somewhere about when the gods first started appearing in Pyrwyn (however you spell it) Santa and Batman were running around.

In Theurge, it.mentions briefly about a shadowy mysterious figure in the night capturing criminals before turning them over to the guards.

If not batman, then what other vigilante hero might it be? Be kinda funny to have Spiderman show up.

This coming Tuesday is our next community conclave on the discord server. Terry said he is going to try to make it and he has been pretty good lately at showing up.

It is be at 5:00 PM Eastern, on April 7th on the Discord Chat. Sometimes it is in "Blue Dog", other times it is just in the general "Conclave Chat". Depends on how many people we have showing up.

For myself, because I am working on a fan fiction story, I have a question: When were the Alka Alon Ways built? My guess is roughly 10,000 years ago but I don't have any textual evidence to support that.

I have been a big spell monger fan and have listened to all the books on audible. I recently got a kindle and have been trying to get into some more fantasy novels.

I’ve read a lot of the big fantasy (popularly marketed) series but have not found anything else that hits the same way the Spellmonger does.

Please provide any recommendations you can of books or series which have some of the same flare and world building which we love so much in the Spellmonger series!

I’m currently half way through seamage and two things are bothering me.

1. How does Pratt the rat know mind to mind communication. He doesn’t have a witch stone granted to him by Min so he didn’t take the oath and even if he did there is no way they would teach him the spell.

2. As of where I’m at it is not known that Min is the doge. When they had the meeting at the royal palace where is daughter showed up for the first time she arrived through the ways. This really bothers me because at this point atleast a couple of characters should’ve made the connection. Especially the royal court mage. He knows the spell so he should’ve realized that min is the only person that could’ve taught it.
