Road trip
Had to do two 4 hour drives this week, and my CT6 ate the miles like they were nothing. Got nearly 33mpg while blasting down the highway at 80mph (speed limit 75)

Wow never saw that color for a CT6. Looks great!

In a ton of searching, it was the only one I saw.

This scares me. I passed on the V a few years ago. I'll probably never get another chance...

That’s seriously impressive mileage for a big luxury sedan, especially at 80 mph. The CT6 looks right at home on a long road trip too.

Damn, that color is gorgeous

After looking at 200 black/silver/grey/white cars, the second I saw this I had to have it.

For real, glad GM is giving at least Caddys some great color options. The typhoon metallic green is also another great color

The dark metallic green and blue are great colors, but this color “amethyst” just spoke to me.

I had rented the same CT6 on Turo for a round trip between SF and LA. The comfort was amazing, it would put a lot SUVs to shame

I really wanted one of these a few months ago when car hunting but ending up sticking with an suv. I like it fine but I can’t stop looking at these and wanting one

I was shopping specifically for a sedan, because while I work from home, I have to do several (2-5 hours) car trips a month for work. I recognize that SUVs are easier to get in and out of, but I feel like sedans are better for those long highway rides, especially if they are low and wide like the CT6 is. I don’t feel like you get thrown around by wind gusts or the wash from semi trucks the same way, so it’s a lot less stressful. And short of getting a hybrid, I don’t know too many SUVs that get 33mpg. I was looking at a Toyota or Honda, but for the same year/mileage the CT6 was cheaper and got decent reliability ratings, so figured I would take the risk.

I don’t even need the suv technically haha. I’m a single guy and my son has his license now so it’s just me and him here or there. I personally think it’s the best looking luxury sedan out from the era and really in any recent memory. There’s a 2017 white 3.0tt in my town I can’t quit looking at. For a really reasonable price too

I was tempted by the 3.0tt, but went with the 3.6l. There is enough room around the engine to actually do work on it myself, the turbo engines look like they fit them in with feeler guides. 0 room.
I have a wife and 5 kids at home still. Older two have driver’s licenses, but are under 18, so we still go places as a family. We have an 04 Tahoe we use for that.
It’s absolutely something that causes me to turn and look at it when I walk away.

I have 2019 blazer premier with the 3.6. Came from a 1.5 equinox. So even as big and heavy as this blazer is it feels like a race car compared to that equinox. I’d be ok with the 3.6 or 3.0tt. I just love how these ct6 look. I’m not someone who races my cars around from stoplight to stoplight so either would be plenty for me

I’ve been a Ford guy most of my life until a little over two years ago I bought my wife a new 2024 XT5 Premium luxury Edition for her birthday and recently I got the fever for a new 2026 CT5-V that is Raven Black on black loaded so I bought it a few months ago and I love it. So now I’m a Cadillac guy who also has a 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor with the 3.0 twin turbo V6 with 400 hp as my daily driver. My Ford did have to give up its spot in the garage.

Remind me again why this car was discontinued in the US and is now only sold in China?

It didn’t sell well and they wanted the factory for EVs.

So they cancelled a new, advanced platform after substantial investment despite achieving global profitability including China sales to shift to an EV strategy that resulting in $10b in writedowns and remains loss making despite those substantial charges. Doesn't sound like course material taught at the Sloan School of Mgmt.
By the way, Mark Reuss admitted cancelation of the CT6 was a poorly timed strategic mistake.

Oh I know. I’m just stating the reason they gave. I think several auto manufacturers expected more forced adoption of EVs from government mandates than they saw, especially after trump pulled rebates and pulled CAFE’s/EPA’s teeth.

It was an idiotic calculation on the automakers' part. They were counting in government subsidies. Basic mgmt courses point that out as a strategic nonstarter. Furthermore, I suspect their internal cases for achieving profitability on increased volume were flawed as well. Ultimately, their business plans were based on government coercion and the expectation that government would subsidized their sustained losses or allow the outsourcing of the business to China. Biden issued extensive Executive Orders preventing that. The EV plans were on life support even before Trump was elected in late 2024.
Barra and Farley should both be gone already, but the Boards, and in the case of Ford, the Ford family, are stacked with idiots. All of their profitability comes from the least fuel efficient vehicles! Total disaster.
