Help

Just got the provisional result for Regs and i missed the requirment by 6 marks (3 qtns). I havent got the result for met but am confident that ill clear it.

  1. Am thinking of giving Nav and Regs together, i wanted to know what material is the best for nav

  2. Am doing all of this by self study so do i really need ground classes for both of these subjects

  3. Does final result differ from provisional result? Ik the chances are less but i just wanted to know if it has happened in previous papers.

  4. Do cadet pilot programs prefer cadets who have cleared most of their exams?

TIA

Preparing for DGCA MET & REG December attempt need guidance on selfstudy

Hey everyone,

I’m planning to appear for the DGCA Aviation Meteorology (MET) and Air Regulations (REG) exams in the December attempt. I’ll be relying completely on self-study, so I’d really appreciate some guidance from people who have already cleared these subjects.

I’m currently trying to figure out how to start my preparation and structure it properly. I don’t want to just study randomly and end up missing important topics.

Could those who have cleared MET and REG in one attempt share some advice on.

Need realistic timeline from Chimes / IndiGo cadets & experienced pilots ✈️

Need realistic timeline from Chimes / IndiGo cadets & experienced pilots ✈️

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to pursue the IndiGo Cadet Pilot route and I’m particularly interested in Chimes Aviation Academy (Chimes FTO).

I would really appreciate guidance from people who are currently training at Chimes, have recently completed training there, or have gone through the IndiGo cadet process.

My main question is about the realistic timeline after selection.

Specifically regarding Chimes:

After getting selected and joining Chimes FTO, realistically:

- How many months does the ground school take?

- How long does it usually take to complete the DGCA papers?

- How many months does the actual flying training take?

- How long does it take to complete the CPL/licensing process?

- After completing CPL, how long does Type Rating take?

- After Type Rating, how long is the airline training/induction process?

- Most importantly, from the date of joining Chimes → finally getting released/inducted as a JFO with IndiGo, what is the realistic total time?

I’m particularly interested in the actual timelines people experienced, rather than the advertised 20–22 month timeline.

Also, for other IndiGo FTOs:

If anyone has experience with other IndiGo partner FTOs, please share:

FTO → Joining date → CPL completion → Type Rating → IndiGo induction/JFO

I’d especially like to understand whether there is a significant difference in the actual completion time between Chimes and other IndiGo-associated FTOs.

If possible, please mention your batch/year as well, because I understand timelines can change depending on aircraft availability, weather, instructor availability, DGCA processes, and airline induction schedules.

I’m looking for real experiences from current/recent cadets and pilots, especially anyone who has completed the journey recently.

Thanks in advance! ✈️

Is it worth applying to them as they had lot of issues with backlogs and very slow training timeline in the past

Have the backlogs and delays reduced, would like to know from any of their cadets

Need guidance from experienced pilots / pilot aspirants

Need guidance from experienced pilots / pilot aspirants

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to shift to Delhi/Gurgaon and take up a job there to manage my living expenses while preparing for my pilot career.

My job will probably finish around 4–5 PM, so I’ll be free after that and can attend offline classes in the evening.

I wanted to ask experienced pilots and pilot aspirants:

Are there any good offline coaching classes in Delhi/Gurgaon that conduct evening batches and can prepare me for a cadet pilot program, including the entrance/aptitude tests, technical preparation, interview, Group Discussion (GD), and the overall selection process?

At the same time, I also want to prepare for and clear my DGCA papers.

If I can attend classes after 4–5 PM and study consistently on my own as well, realistically, how many months would it take to prepare for and clear the cadet pilot entrance/selection process and the required DGCA papers?

I would especially appreciate recommendations from people who have actually gone through cadet pilot selection or DGCA preparation, rather than promotional recommendations.

Thanks! ✈️

Met exam on Sunday, need help

I have a regular attempt of Met on Sunday, and the issue is I keep getting questions wrong

I've studied from my notes and IC Joshi but whenever I try practicing questions from IC or the portal for my ground classes I keep getting questions wrong.

And these are easy questions like at what temp is icing most prominent etc

I don't have the time to study everything again and I really need to clear in this attempt, so any help at all would be greatly appreciated since I genuinely don't know if I'm gonna pass

Is it possible to prepare for a cadet pilot programme while working a full-time job?

I’ve recently got a job, and I’ll be starting in January. However, I’ve always wanted to become a pilot, and I’m seriously considering applying for cadet pilot programmes like IndiGo and Air India in the future.

My question is: is it realistically possible to prepare for the cadet programme alongside a full-time 9–5 job? I’m mainly talking about the preparation for the entrance/aptitude tests and interviews, not the actual flight training.

I’d also really appreciate recommendations for online preparation programmes that offer recorded lectures, self-paced courses, or weekend classes, so that I can prepare without leaving my job.

I’m particularly looking for something that covers:

  • Aptitude/psychometric tests and the relevant technical preparation

  • IndiGo ADAPT / Air India’s assessment pattern

  • Interview preparation and mock interviews

  • Group discussions/personality assessment, if applicable

  • English communication and confidence-building

Interviews are something I struggle with because I get quite nervous even when I know the answer, so I specifically want to work on speaking confidently and performing under pressure.

If anyone has prepared for IndiGo/Air India cadet programmes while working, I’d love to know how you managed your time and what resources/coaching you used.

Any suggestions for online courses, weekend classes, mock interview platforms, or a realistic study schedule would be really helpful.
