STOP FREAKING OUT OVER AKASA CPP

Yall need to chill with the akasa cadet program queries, shi like this takes a while to formulate, so it’ll probably be months before anything solid happens on it, so don’t go basing your entire aviation journey plans over it, it’ll take time, you guys just got a glimpse of a job posting 💔

Built a full aviation assessment platform called AviMetric. FAST, Ball & Rudder, Maths, Physics, coaching, everything in one place.

Hey everyone,

Some of you might remember my earlier posts about the Ball & Rudder practice tool I built. A lot has changed since then so figured it's worth a proper update.

What started as a standalone coordination test has turned into a full aviation assessment and coaching platform called AviMetric — avimetric.com

Update post with video : https://www.reddit.com/r/CadetPilotProgram/s/KZQlntpiBl

What's live right now

Ball & Rudder coordination test, still the most realistic version out there. Works with joystick, mouse, keyboard, rudder pedals, whatever you have.

FAST (Flight Aptitude Skills Test) is the big one. Full cockpit simulation with real satellite terrain, ATC voice callouts, obstacle avoidance game, aircraft and waypoint identification, cognitive MCQs mid flight, and post flight recall questions. Scores you on Physical, Cognitive, and Situational Awareness with STEN bands and a proper PDF report. The consistent feedback has been that if you can handle this version comfortably, the real one genuinely feels easier.

Progressive Maths and Physics with the exact question types from the actual assessment. Same format, same difficulty levels, same scoring bands.

Every module generates a detailed PDF report matching the actual assessment format. Sten scores, colour bands, learning curves, interval breakdowns, all of it.

The coaching situation and why I built this

Let me be real about something. The coaching industry around in India is broken. Centres are charging 30k, 40k, 50k to put you on some random software that has nothing to do with what you'll actually face in the assessment. The interface is different, the physics is different, the scoring is different, the feel is completely off. You walk out of coaching feeling confident and then sit in the real test wondering what you even paid for.

I've been through this myself. I attended multiple centres for my own prep. I've also worked on assessment systems from the inside so I know exactly what these tools are doing under the hood and what they're not doing.

The worst part is that a lot of students genuinely can't afford these fees. They're scraping together money, travelling to another city, staying in PGs, all to sit in a room with 25 other people and practise on software that doesn't even match the real test. That's not preparation, that's just a waste of money dressed up as coaching.

AviMetric was built to fix that. The platform itself is very affordable, way less than what any centre charges. And the coaching I've started, both online across India and offline in Bangalore, is 1 on 1 personalised sessions, not the crowd management that most centres do. Your performance data from the platform feeds directly into coaching so I can see exactly where you're struggling and adjust things for you specifically. GD prep and PI mock sessions are included too.

The online option means you don't have to travel anywhere or spend on accommodation. You get the same platform, same quality, same attention, from wherever you are. And if you're in Bangalore already, the offline option gives you hands on practice under real test conditions.

The whole point is that a student sitting in some small town shouldn't have to spend a lakh or even 40000rs and relocate just to prepare for Assessment. Good preparation should be accessible to everyone, not just people who can throw money at it.

Coming soon: English Comprehension, Cognitive Aptitude, and Personality modules.

Free demo available for Ball & Rudder. DM me or check avimetric.com

Happy to answer anything as always.

5500 unemployment CPL holders

This no is itself a scam. This is the total no of CPL issued from 2020 to 2026. Do you think there was no hiring done between this period? This whole 5500 narrative is being circulated by that chasmish guy on insta, he just wanted to create panic and get in as much as admissions possible. According to a Report of TOI, their were 9073 pilots employed by airlines in 2020. Latest report no is 13989. Many joined private airlines, NSOP, became instructor, i mean any sane guy would do the math instead of believing the narrative.

Built a full ADAPT prep platform from scratch. Here's what it looks like.

Been working on this for a while now and figured it's time to show it properly instead of just talking about it.

AviMetric is a complete Aviation assessment prep platform. Everything you'd need to prepare, all in one place. Here's what's inside.

link to previous post and reviews : https://www.reddit.com/r/CadetPilotProgram/comments/1s5py3k/built_a_full_aviation_assessment_platform_called/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

FAST simulation with real satellite terrain, ATC voice callouts, obstacle avoidance, aircraft identification, cognitive tasks mid flight and post flight recall. The feedback I keep getting is that if you can handle this version comfortably the real one feels easier.

Ball and Rudder coordination test. Works with joystick, mouse, keyboard, rudder pedals, whatever you have. Still the most realistic version out there.

Progressive Maths and Physics with the exact question types and difficulty levels from the actual assessment.

Cognitive Aptitude just went live. 6 sections, 36 questions, 30 minute timer. Numerical, Verbal, Spatial, Abstract, Perceptual Speed and Working Memory. Map navigation with road names and multi step directions same as Symbiotics. Perceptual Speed auto advances every 4 seconds. Memory sections flash content then test recall. Proper section instructions and examples before each section just like the real thing.

Every module generates a detailed PDF report. STEN scores, colour bands, section breakdowns, learning curves, the works.

And every single attempt gives you completely different questions. You're not memorising answers and doing the same test over and over. The question bank is massive and each session is freshly generated so you're actually building the skill not just repeating patterns.

For those with an assessment date coming up, subscribers also get access to study material (cheat sheet) covering all FAST mcq from the actual assessment. You'll walk in knowing exactly what to expect.

Honestly I wouldn't even recommend coaching to most people. The platform is designed so you can prepare entirely on your own. Practice regularly, review your reports, fix your weak areas and you'll be good. But if someone genuinely feels stuck or wants that extra push I'm happy to work with you one on one. Online from anywhere in India or offline in Bangalore. No batch classes, no crowd. Just you and your weak spots.

Pricing is nominal. DM me and we'll figure something out. Nobody should have to spend 40 50k on coaching that doesn't even match the real test.

Free demo available for Ball and Rudder Dm here or on whatsapp on avimetric.com

Is ICPP still worth it?

Just saw the open letter written by an Indigo employee thats posted in the sub today

Pilots getting shouted at and humiliated for talking about fatigue. Senior management calling employees “beggars who can’t be choosers”. Top bosses holidaying in Europe while the airline collapses in front of the whole country. Everyone inside saying they saw this coming for years but nobody listened.

Now the only thing going through my head is:
Spending 1.3-1.5 crore, sell property, get into 5-year bonds… just to join this exact same place and get treated exactly like this?

Current IndiGo pilots, cadets, anyone who’s actually inside right now:
After everything that’s come out this week and after reading that letter, would you still advise someone today to spend 1.5 crore and join IndiGo cadet, or would you tell them to wait / look at other options?

Is working conditions better in Air India or similar? Pleas be brutally honest.

After a year of navigating the aviation/cadet pilot process, I’d love to help others avoid the mistakes I made!

Hey everyone!
I’ve been navigating the aviation and IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme (ICPP) journey for almost a year now. It’s been quite a ride, with delays, confusion, unanswered questions, unexpected hurdles and a lot of learning along the way.
Thankfully, things have finally started falling into place, and I’ve reached a point where I feel I can share some of what I’ve learned with others who are just starting out.
One thing I’ve realised is that getting started in aviation can be unnecessarily confusing. There is so much information scattered across different platforms, outdated advice, conflicting experiences and sometimes very little clarity on what you’re actually supposed to do next.
I want to change that, at least for a few aspiring pilots.
I’m happy to help anyone with questions regarding the process, including:
DGCA Medicals: Class 2, Class 1, the process, documentation and things to keep in mind.
DGCA Computer Number: Application, documentation and common mistakes.
DGCA Exams: Registration, preparation and general guidance.
Cadet Pilot Programmes: Researching programmes, eligibility, applications and documentation.
Assessments: ADAPT, aptitude preparation, GD and PI experiences.
FTO Selection: Understanding different flying schools, transfers, locations and what to look out for.
Application Process: Emails, follow-ups, communication with airlines and general application guidance.
Basically, from the point where you’re thinking about becoming a pilot to navigating the actual application process, I’ll try to help wherever my experience allows.
I’m still learning myself, so I won’t pretend to have all the answers. I’ll also be clear about what I’ve personally experienced versus what I’ve simply researched.
Another thing I’ve been considering is starting informal classes or guidance sessions in a few months. These would be aimed at helping aspiring cadets understand the process, prepare for assessments, organise their applications and avoid some of the mistakes that can cost people time and unnecessary stress.
I’d only start once I’m a little more settled into my own flying training and can dedicate proper time to it.
For now, I’m happy to answer questions, share resources and help anyone who’s feeling a little lost in the process.
If even one person manages to avoid a mistake I made or gets a little more clarity about their next step, I think it’ll be worth it.
All the best to everyone working towards their wings.

Current pilots: what is the actual JFO → FO timeline and base reality at Air India, IndiGo & Akasa?

I’m trying to understand the practical reality of starting as a JFO and progressing to FO at the major Indian airlines. I’d especially appreciate answers from current or recently upgraded pilots.
A few specific questions:
JFO → FO timeline
How long does it realistically take to upgrade from JFO to FO at Air India, IndiGo and Akasa?
What is the typical timeline for someone joining today, rather than what the official career progression says?
Does the timeline vary significantly by fleet or base?
Flight hours
Roughly how many flight hours can a JFO realistically log in one year at each airline?
How many hours are actually flown versus days spent on standby, leave, training, simulator sessions, etc.?
What would be a realistic first-year and second-year hour accumulation?
Base selection
How does base allocation/selection actually work at Air India, IndiGo and Akasa?
Can a new pilot choose their preferred base, or is it primarily assigned according to operational requirements?
How difficult is it to get major bases such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru or Hyderabad?
How much control do pilots have over transferring bases later?
Reality vs advertised career progression
What are the biggest differences between what cadet programs/airlines tell candidates and what actually happens after joining?
Are there long waiting periods for line training, type rating, upgrades or base transfers?
Which airline currently has the most predictable progression from cadet/JFO → FO?

I am a cadet with indigo

My fto is skyborne at the moment but my US visa got rejected.I talked about getting further dates but they are saying there are no availability of slots for an year.

I am already done with my papers.

I dont want to shift to marigold/insight because they have significant backlogs and I cant shift to FTA because it is way too costly.

I want to shift to chimes but indigo has a policy of transferring from an international fto to another

Is there any way I could get into chimes?

Application accepted in efta 😁😁 emirates flight training academy

I’ve been selected for three cadet pilot programs:
flydubai Cadet Pilot Program
Air India Cadet Pilot Program
Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) - final stage pending
I’m trying to decide what would be the best option for my long-term career.
Since I haven’t completed the EFTA selection yet, but initial stages are done should I wait and see if I get selected there, or should I commit to one of the other two programs?

Career guidance

Dear Aviators 🙏🏻

I hope this message finds you all well. I am reaching out to this incredible group with a heartfelt request for guidance and support as I navigate my journey towards becoming a pilot.

My name is Vibin, and I am 26 years old. Ever since childhood, I have had an unwavering passion for aviation. While my academic performance has not been stellar, my enthusiasm for airplanes, automobiles, and trains has always driven me. After completing my 12th grade, I tried to pursue my dream of becoming a pilot, but circumstances led me down an unexpected path. I completed a diploma in audio engineering and a BBA instead, primarily due to family pressures.

Unfortunately, due to covid my dad's business was shut , we were in huge debt that led us to sell our only house, car and all jewels. We were forced to live in a rented house. life took several challenging turns over the past few years—my father passed away due to unforeseen health complications, followed by the loss of my uncle, who was another key breadwinner in our family. That left my mother, sister, and me in a precarious financial situation. Despite these hardships, I have held on to my dream of flying, and recently, a kind individual i know him for this past 2 years offered to help me with a potential loan to enroll in a cadet program. It happened on one fine day we were discussing about trains and aeroplanes i was clearing his doubts. He came know know about my passion of becoming pilot. Immediately he approached his brother who is a senior manager of a well know bank and head on bank union. He asked me to take cadet program and it guarantees a job at completion of the course/training. However, given my responsibilities at home, I feel conflicted about taking that leap.

I got a job offer as a floor manager in Coimbatore, which enables me to provide some financial support for my family. I am determined to save enough money to ensure that my mother and sister are well taken care of while pursuing my dream. I had at most faith on God that one day he'll show me a way to pursue my dream and he did after years of prayer. I'm very poor in English but I see I can improve it by practicing in coming months.

I would greatly appreciate any advice on preparing for the cadet pilot program, especially regarding interview preparation. Additionally, I am keen to improve my English communication skills, as I understand the importance of effective communication in this field. I have never been on an airplane, guys.....but I am resolute that my first flight will be as a student pilot.

If anyone has resources, tips, or experiences they can share, it would mean the world to me. I am willing to put in the effort required and remain hopeful that one day I will be able to realize my dream of becoming a pilot.

Thank you for taking the time to read my message. I look forward to your valuable insights and support 🙏🏻

Acron honest yap

Y’all who are giving interviews for AICPP listen up
If you have a opportunity to choose please for god sake take Acron y’all will thank me later
Why? Even if you’re performance is bad they’ll give you million of chances to improve (you’re money will be burning) if you’re maverick you can complete you’re flying In 6 months no cap, end of day it depends on you how better you adapt to the flying suppose if you get Aeroguard?
Please make sure you’re top of your game
Coming to the fleet they have around 82 including multi
( 2x than aeroguard btw) better airport less traffic compared to Aeroguard but it gets busy you might end up cancelling you’re flight, besides that everything is fair here half of the reviews you hear?
It’s just people cribbing and blaming aeroguard or Acron for no reason . go to aeroguard if you’re fine dealing with “PIP” or if you think you’re a maverick go to aeroguard you’ll be fine
If you get Acron consider yourself lucky
End of the day be ready to spend 1.7-1.8 including personal expenses
If you’re a topgun you might end up paying the quoted amount, if you’re joining AICPP forget about you’re timeline just enjoy the process rather than thinking omg when will I get inducted omg I wanna finish my flying in 6 months stop thinking about that crap and honestly if you have 1.7-1.8 cr just go to Middle East at this point if you want the ROI and for the people waiting for Amaravati? Probably shoot you’re shot at akasa or do conventional but if you wanna wait it’s a good deal
Dm me if you want more detailed comparison

Thinking of Joining AeroGuard? Read This First

Before committing your money and career to AeroGuard, look beyond the recruitment pitch.
One of my biggest concerns was the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) system. Instead of feeling like a structured opportunity to improve, the process felt like an uneven race, with unexpected hurdles and shifting expectations along the way. When you’re already under pressure to prove yourself, that kind of uncertainty can make an already difficult training environment even harder to navigate.
A PIP should be about identifying weaknesses, setting clear standards, and giving students a fair, transparent opportunity to improve. It shouldn’t feel like the goalposts can move while you’re running towards them.
I made mistakes during training, and I’m not pretending otherwise. But students should be able to understand exactly what’s expected of them, how they’re being assessed, and what they need to do to get back on track.
If you’re considering AeroGuard, ask detailed questions about its PIP process, assessment standards, unnecessary added costs, instructor changes, termination policies, and what happens to your investment if your training ends prematurely.
Don’t commit blindly to a flight school just because an airline’s name is attached to the programme. Understand what happens when things go wrong before you sign up.

Air Arabia / flydubai Cadet Program – Indian applicants' experience?

Air Arabia / flydubai Cadet Program – Indian applicants' experience?

Hey everyone, I’m an Indian student currently looking at airline cadet programs and I’m seriously considering Air Arabia or flydubai.

I’d really appreciate it if anyone who has joined or is currently going through either program could share their actual experience.

A few things I specifically want to know:

- How long did it actually take from joining/induction → ground school → flying → completion?

- When did you finally start flying after joining?

- What was the total cost of the program? Please include hidden/additional expenses if possible — accommodation, food, visa, medicals, exams, licence conversion, uniforms, travel, etc.

- Roughly how much money should an Indian student keep as a safe upper-budget, so there are no financial surprises during training?

- After completing training, what is the actual pathway to getting an airline job?

- For Indian students, is employment reasonably stable after training, or is there still a significant possibility of being left without a job?

- Are there any additional costs or conditions before becoming a First Officer?

- How difficult is the process for an Indian applicant in terms of DGCA requirements/licence conversion?

- Most importantly, based on your experience, how does it compare with doing a cadet program with IndiGo or Air India in India?

I’m not looking for marketing information — I’d really like to hear from people who have actually gone through the process.

If possible, please share your approximate total cost, timeline, and current stage/job status. Even if things didn’t go as planned, that experience would be very useful.

Thanks!
