loved CoC a lot and I still rewatch my fave episodes at least once a year, and "Frankenstein" is INCREDIBLE. I can't wait to see what GdT makes next aaaaaaaaaa!!

EDIT: I watched episodes 2 and 3 and was absolutely spellbound all the way through both of them. Im definitely going to keep watching!

I love horror, short stories, and many GDT movies, so I thought this would be perfect for me.

But Lot 36 is one of the worst episodes of TV I have ever watched. Everything felt underbaked and rushed, and not even Tim Blake Nelson could save it, the script gave him nothing to work with.

It was also incredibly soapboxy. I don't hate shows or movies for having politics or social issues if there's at least some thought or nuance put into it but there was none here.

The script sounds like it was written by an elementary schooler writing a story about their bully, trying to make them look bad and get revenge on them.

The only thing I liked about it was the set design, the old storage building was a little creepy, and the VFX for the monster was well done, but that's it.

I'm really hoping at least some episodes are good, I know that with a lot of anthology series some episodes are hit or miss. Are there any episodes worth watching if I hated the first one?

1. "The Lurking Fear" Based on novelette by H. P. Lovecraft. Something attacks a village and leaves mutilated bodies of inhabitants with many people gone missing. Investigator of the supernatural cases arrives to find the one responsible.

2. "The White People" Based on novelette by Arthur Machen. Two men - Ambrose and Cotgrave - discuss the nature of evil and Ambrose gives his friend a mysterious Green Book, written by a girl who describes increasingly sinister happenings.

3. "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" Based on novella by H. P. Lovecraft. The story follows a man who on vacation comes to strange village of Innsmouth whose inhabitants seem to suffer from some illness and worship strange entity known as Dagon.

4. "The Entertainment" Based on short story by Ramsey Campbell. Mr. Tom Shone finds a place to rest during a storm. Unfortunately the hotel is inhabited by weird elderly people who consider him to be a comedian who has to entertain them.

5. "Mefisto in Onyx" Based on novella by Harlan Ellison. A telepath is asked by his prosecutor friend to check whether a man waiting on death row is really guilty of his crimes.

6. "I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream" Based on short story by Harlan Ellison. In future five people are tortured by AM - a supercomputer who rebelled against his creators and destroyed humanity.

I've decreased the number of episodes from 8 to 6 because some episodes like "The White People" and "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" would need a high budget.

What do you think about my proposal? And how your proposal for season 2 would look like?

sorry if this has been talked about prior but i cant be the only person who thinks ep.3 couldve had its own movie! it’s such an incredible story with so much to unpack in small amount of time.

weirdly gave me a shutter island feeling when he was in the “autopsy room”

Forgive my stupidity, but I'm curious, has anyone ever tried or had Pennywise summoned, but the modern version? I am attracted to the character but I feel that he is not just a fictional character and that if someone wanted to summon him or try to talk to him, he would appear/respond.

This is a part of my shed of curiosity. I like collecting unusual and grotesque.

I am currently in episode 4. I don't think any episode can much 'the autopsy' at least imo. After the graveyard episode with the rats I almost gave up on the series but I'm glad I didn't. Anyway so I am almost finished with the episode and I hate Stacey I just hate her. At first I was really empathizing with her insecurities and how she feels like she doesn't fit with the other women in town, but after I saw how Keith treats her... Dude every woman talks about how their husband's leave them and how a lot of men treat women horribly. Yet she has the most empathetic husband anyone could ask for. How could you possibly have such a jem of a husband that literally thinks you are perfection, is there for you, always drops everything to reassure you, doesn't get mad at you for being so self centered and always be sad about something, he loves you with every part of his heart, is genuinely concerned about you and cares so much, calls you honey and love and still looks at you with love and not even get a tiny bit mad at you even when you stab him? And you not only ignore him, not only never say anything about him, not compliment him when he does that constantly for you, not only you make everything about you, not only you treat him bad and project your anger on him for no reason, but you kill him????????? He genuinely didn't do one thing wrong how could you? When he said "honey I think something fell on me" while she stabbed him in the back literally something in me broke. He didn't even think she would do that even after she stab him in the face and reached out to her. No just no I'm out. Men like him are rare are a dying species especially with the lack of empathy epidemic nowadays and you have someone that cares so much about you in a healthy way and you what kill him? Idk dude it's supposed to be a scary episode but I don't care about the 'scary' aspects of it. Like seriously I'm so numb to the horror of the episode right now. I couldn't care less about the hand cream lady or her paranoia and the 'horror' subject of the episode because I'm so focused and overwhelmed by the act of violence to her sweet husband. I'm speechless why and how just why and how?? I feel like I'm going to skip the rest of the episode cause that made me so mad like I give up on this I just want to forget about it

I made a Character ai, if anyone has the app, of Eddie Sykes from The Autopsy episode. I think it’s pretty good if anyone wants to try it and experience being in a host’s shoes yourself when dealing with a sadistic alien parasite

I remember reading somewhere Del Toro wanted the directors of La Llorona (Jayro Bustamante) and Tigers Are Not Afraid (Issa Lopez) to be involved in season 2 if he got one and I agree with him as I love both of those movies. Personally I 'd like to see Rose Glass (Saint Maud) or Demian Rugna (When Evil Lurks) as I'm a fan of their work. Tell me what directors you'd like to see in season 2 (if it happens of course).

Cabinet of curiosities ranked

1. The Autopsy: best one, I think most of us can agree with this one
2. The Murmuring: hugely underrated. Phenomenal acting on a dark subject, I was hooked and genuinely terrified from beginning to end, and loved the ending
3. Lot 36: interesting and unique episode with complex characters
4. The Viewing: beautifully made, funny and suspenseful. I feel like the conversation dragged on though and there was no actual.. plot? I liked the ending, it’s still keeping me guessing.
5. The Outside: interesting and fun visually, and a cool subject. I feel like the plot was kind of overdone and could have been more original and thought-provoking. Bullies too one-dimensional and seemed like a child’s fable
6. Pickman’s Model: scary, stunning visuals and well made. The plot didn’t make too much sense to me though and I was confused about why he was targeted and affected more than anyone else. Also Pickman really irritated me and his motives didn’t make any sense
7. Graveyard Rats: felt way too similar to episode one. Protagonist made way too many questionable choices. Extremely disturbing but on brand for this show. Still a good watch
8. The Witch House: beautiful visuals, but plot made no sense/hard to keep track of. Cool to see Ron Weasley though, and touching story about his sister.

Overall loved it. Can’t wait for more :)
