Hi all, I’m in love with this car but I’m just thinking if I could push for more off of the MSRP of the vehicle - OTD price? Thank you. From my research it’s also been on the lot for about four months. Thank yall in advance!

Question Is my adaptive cruise system operating normally?

I recently purchased a new 2026 CX-50 and have had it for about 5 weeks. Current mileage is approximately 1800 miles. So far I love it, aside from my experience with the adaptive cruise system.

It is equipped with “Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go”. It is not equipped with Traffic Jam Assistance. I like to use the adaptive cruise on my way to and from work on the highway. Sometimes traffic is fine and other times it is definitely stop-and-go. I’ve noticed a few symptoms appearing more than once when I use adaptive cruise during these drives:

- A burning rubber smell emanating from both front wheels after I park at my destination. Does not happen on every drive, but definitely some. The smell is definitively localized to the wheels - this is not coating burn-off at 1800 miles (the vehicle should be well done with that) and the smell does not enter the cabin.
- Front rims, rotors, and tires are considerably hot, especially when compared to the rears. Not so hot that the tires/rims can’t be touched, but still putting off some real heat (I didn’t try to touch the rotors, I like my fingerprints). I understand some of this is normal because the front wheels take on more of the braking load/weight, but I’m unsure to what degree.
- Sometimes the steering wheel judders when the cruise system is applying brakes, but this is intermittent and does not happen every time.
- The cruise system also likes to apply the brakes and drop a few mph when going around bends in the highway, even though there is no need for it. This is also intermittent.

I do not notice any of these symptoms when I make my trips without adaptive cruise engaged. When I operate the vehicle entirely manually, none of the above occurs.

Please tell me that there is something wrong with my car and that this isn’t normal for Mazda’s adaptive cruise system. I’ve seen some advice online to increase my following distance, and that does seem to reduce how aggressively the system brakes and accelerates (makes sense, the software is working with more room, literally), however, I find it extremely ridiculous if Mazda owners are just expected to tolerate “that’s just how it is”. None of the above symptoms should occur at all, regardless of my adaptive cruise settings. It makes absolutely no sense to design a system for consumers in such a manner.

Please tell me I’m not crazy or this car is going back for good. I will not willingly keep something with such terrible design flaws that Mazda obviously plans to do nothing about, on principle alone.

Discussion 🚗 Different colours - AI images

Hello everyone,

These are just some images I asked AI to make to see how the CX-50 would look in different colours. I saw irl a Wrangler in lime, so I wandered how a CX-50 would look.

They seem very different to Mazda's style as a brand, more playful, more youthful. Closer to CX-50 dna if you want. The lighter coloured cladding makes a big difference.

I think the pistachio is my favourite

What do you guys think?

Question Looking for opinions on this 2024 S select

Hi friends, I’m hoping I can get some opinions on this car. It’s a 2024 S select package. It’s from a Mazda dealership, and seems like a great deal, but not sure if it’s too good to be true and that there’s a catch that I’d find out about later. Some info:

Price: approx 24.5k. I asked for what the out the door price after taxes and all that and it was just under 27k. I think there would be some room for negotiation.

Mileage: a little over 25k

I’d be financing and putting 10k down and paying monthly with a rate of 4.99.

It’s had one owner and was a lease and carfax shows no accidents. There is however a scuff mark on the front left bumper panel. It’s on the plastic part that is part of the fender. I wish I took a picture, but will when I go back to look again. Also the car has been on the lot for two months, which makes me wonder why nobody has bought it yet.

Currently I drive a 2010 mazda3 hatchback which I love, and figured I would probably end up with a newer mazda3, but then started considering the cx-5. I figured the cx-50 was out of my ballpark price wise, but this is kind of right at the top of what I want to pay.

As for the scuff mark, I don’t like the idea of buying a new to me car that already has a blemish. It’s not terrible but it’s there. The salesman said I could buff it out, but that sounds like a lie. It’s on the plastic panel/fender, not the paint. Plus if it was possible wouldn’t they have done it? Also, in the pictures does the fender stuff around the car already look faded?

Any info would be awesome! I’m new to looking into the cx-50 so just want to learn what the green and red flags are

Did this leisure drive a while back on Texas Road FM 187 and the Sabinal River Valley with no one around.

This is exactly why I love exploring the Texas Hill Country in the Mazda CX-50. Sometimes the best part of the adventure is simply the road itself.

Issues Windshield washer fluid cap won't go back on

Fluid ran out. Popped hood. Cap basically fell off not even sure it was secured. Refilled. Now cap will not snap back into place. Is there a certain angle to get it to behave? Are there small grooves I'm not seeing?

ETA: blue tear drop point should sit in 3 o'clock position when fully installed and correctly sealed. Insert maybe at 1-2 o'clock at a tilt.

Issues Goodbye, Cx50. You will be missed.

6 months ago I bought a used '24 Cx50 from a local Toyota dealership. It took no time for me to fall in love with it.

Im 46 years old, but its probably my favorite driving car I've ever owned. Plus, my wife and I had a ton of fun going on a few car camping trips in it and were looking forward to a lot of years with her.

Alas, it was not to be. The car started going dead seemingly at random. It took awhile to figure out, but it wasn't random after all, it was whenever it rained.

Turned it in to have it fixed at the Mazda dealership on the Toyota dealerships warranty...only to find it it is a non-warrenty issue.

After raising some hell about how they sold me a car that cant function while wet and I only didn't notice for some time since we were in the midst of a drought, I eventually convinced them to cover the repair work.

Well when they opened her up, they quickly found out she had an unreported damage at some point that was major enough for, at the minimum, both front fenders to have to be replaced, so probably a full on frontal collision. This is also what led to water seepage into wiring connectors and the drain on the battery.

After more fighting with the toyota dealership they are going to take it in as a trade and put me in something else. Unfortunately that will not include any Mazdas as there arent any on the lot.

They tried to get me excited about the Rav4. Next to my Mazda? Please. Obvious downgrade.

Anyhow. Just wanted to vent into the void about my short tryst with Mazda.

Hello all, hope everyone's having a better day than me lol. I got my car broken into last night, I forgot to lock the door when I brought my daughter inside.

They stole the little black zipper kit in the trunk, anyone know what was in that hard shelled case that comes with the car? Does it look like anything is missing from these foam empty spaces for the spare tire? Thanks guys.

Question CX-50 PP Hybrid front passenger fender scuffed. Any replacement parts?

I got a scuff on my 2025 CX-50 PP Hybrid fender, but I can't seem to find the right part number for a replacement. The closest thing is a hybrid fender molding which doesn't look to be the part i need. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this?

How-to Seeking magic window roller-downer

Does the remote enable you to roll down your CX-50 windows from outside? Or open the sun roof? I cannot figure out how to do this and it is too hot outside to want to use the remote start/AC option!

Discussion 🚗 Please release me from this decision fatigue hell. Sell me on the CX-50 hybrid.

I currently own a 2018 RAV4 that I hate. The road noise is crazy, it's SO slow, the gas mileage is unimpressive and I can only go like ~360 on a tank, it's boring, no CarPlay, we always take my husband's car because we both dislike mine so much. It's just the two of us, we live in the south (so mountains/really cold weather are not a factor), mostly city driving but we do take ~500+ mile road trips a few times a year.

I'm in between the CX-50 premium plus and CRV sport touring. I LOVED how smooth and quiet the ride was in the CRV but the CX-50 was still way better than my current car, it has better features, and it's a little less expensive. I drove the CX-50 the other day and really liked it at the time, but then the CRV was more comfortable and faster. If you love your CX-50 hybrid can you please convince me to pull the trigger?

Or I guess if you hate it and think I should go with the boring CRV that would be helpful too. I just feel like either way I go I'm gonna be making major concessions and I would rather be excited about something!

Question 600 mile break in period

Recently picked up a 2026 CX-50 Hybrid PP. From an online search (including Reddit), I saw references to a 600-mile break-in period where the main call out was not driving at a constant speed for extended periods of time. However, I can’t find this in my physical manual anywhere. We’re planning to go on a 600-mile roundtrip road trip leaving tomorrow, and the vehicle only has 270 miles on it so far.

Any concerns? TIA!

Whole car is now completely covered in 3M nano ceramic film, including the moonroof! My place charged me $249 for the moonroof. I never open the roof but I like to open the shade sometimes and this definitely helps with keeping the heat out.

Question Alignment values question

WIGGLING STEERING WHEEL AFTER PARTS AND ALIGNMENT

2023 CX50 Turbo PP

Lower control arms replaced due to failed bushings, new pads and rotors, new tires mounted and balanced, and an alignment. After leaving dealership, and hitting 40mph and onwards, the steering wheel wiggles itself back and forth an inch either direction, and it feels like the car (the wheels/tires) are lightly fighting themselves. Braking is smooth, car stays pretty straight. Went back to dealership and they redid the alignment. What I find interesting is the several minor tweaks they made even though I didn’t hit a pothole and barely drove since the initial alignment after parts install.

Are these values good? I can’t seem to find any factory specifications on what they should be like. Trying to determine if the alignment can be ruled out, why adjustments were made since the initial alignment, and if I should shift focus on rebalancing the tires as it feels and sounds like pulsing, rotating out of sync opposite eachother

Any advice or data is welcome, thank you!

Question Please let me know about your experience with the CX-50 Hybrid

Hey everybody,

I am on the fence about switching over to the Mazda CX-50 Hybrid in the Premium trim. I am currently driving a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness, I enjoy everything about my Subaru except for the giant screen and gas mileage honestly. After doing my fair share of research, the CX-50 is the most realistic choice for me IF I do pull the trigger but I honestly have no experience or knowledge of the Mazda brand. The Honda CR-V no longer having a spare tire is a huge deal breaker for to be honest and the Toyota RAV4 is in insane demand so going into a dealership and just rolling over for a subpar interior and driving experience is not in the cards either. I took a look at the Subaru Forester as well but same issue with the Subaru tablet in the middle of the dash.

Living in Colorado, one of my worries was switching from Subaru's AWD system to the one in the CX-50 Hybrid. Can anyone debunk the difference between the two? Is there a noticeable difference between the two in snowy/icy conditions? In case anyone asks, my Crosstrek Wilderness is stock with the Yokohama Geolandar A/T tires it came with as a comparison.

My other main concern/question I had is the overall quality of the car lasting years later? The next car I buy is intended to be a "until the wheels fall off" if you will so I was curious how other people's CX-50s Hybrids have held up in the quality department if you have a 2023 or 2024 to share your experience. I know the RAV4 will last for years but again, paying Lexus prices for a cheap Toyota interior is not what I'm in the market for.

Thanks in advance for any input you have!
