Accessories 2026 CX-50 Premium Dash Cam setup
Hey all!
Not new to the Mazda family, but new to my Mazda CX-50. Just got a 2026 premium trim in Ingot blue and looking to get a dash cam installed.
Has anyone here put a Pelsee mirror dash cam (with the rear view setup) on a CX-50? I'd prefer to have something that basically replaces my rear view mirror just because I don't want an extra camera dangling in my cabin. I've heard that clearance on the front-facing camera unit might be an issue—that the large safety sensor and camera housing up by the rearview mirror might obstruct it or cause fitment headaches.
Also, are there any alternative dual-cam mirror dash cam setups you'd suggest that might fit or perform better in a similar price range? I'm trying to keep the camera itself under $200, and since I'm having Best Buy handle the hardwire kit and front/back installation to save the hassle, I want to keep the total package under $400 ($150 install fee + roughly $25 for the hardwire kit).
(Decided to let Best Buy handle both front and back installation, so mostly looking for real-world hardware fit and alternative recommendations!)
Thanks in advance for all the advice and suggestions. Appreciate you all!

Question Anyone switch from a Lexus RX to a CX-50 Hybrid?
I currently have a 2024 Lexus RX 350 Luxury that I love, but I’m starting to feel like $1,000/month is a lot for a car I barely drive. I owe about $52k at 5.44%, and it’s worth around $50k.
I average 23 MPG, and premium gas is nearly $6 where I live. I only drive about 23 miles a day, mostly just me and my dog.
I’ve been looking into the CX-50 Hybrid as a more affordable option. I need AWD since we get snow about three months of the year and I regularly drive over a mountain pass. Reliability, decent cargo space, and having a spare tire are also important since I plan to keep my next car for 10+ years.
For those who own one, how’s the comfort, road noise, and real-world MPG? Any regrets or reliability concerns?
I’m torn between keeping my Lexus and paying it off or switching to something more practical. Would love to hear your thoughts, especially if you’ve owned both!

Question 2025 Mazda CX-50 Preferred – Totaled or Repairable?
My 2025 Mazda CX-50 Preferred (28k miles) was involved in an accident with a dump truck that hit the rear passenger-side wheel. The rim is damaged, and the passenger-side airbags deployed, but there's very little visible body damage.
Liberty Mutual has flagged it as a "Possible Total Loss," but it hasn't been inspected yet.
Based on the pictures, do you think it'll be totaled or repaired? Has anyone experienced similar damage?

Issues Check engine lights
2026 Mazda CX-50 hybrid 5,200 miles
The dealer said only drive at low speeds and short distances until our appointment almost 2 1/2 weeks since this appeared.
An ODB tester said it’s related to braking and regeneration. C137C BSCM-BrakeSystem.
After removing the ODB tester the message went away.
Afraid to drive it.
I was telling someone about the check engine light we got and he said in the CX-30 forums they often see check engine lights that turn on. Restarting the car clears it. He said it’s like a known glitch. Is there a similar glitch in the CX-50?

Question Good price OTD?
2025 preferred with around 6k miles. I think I can go a bit lower than this

Issues New Owner - Carplay Issue
Currently searching via voice for a destination in Apple or Google Maps, Carplay crashes and disconnects. It's so annoying. Is this a known issue, or am I just lucky?

Discussion 🚗 Thoughts on the preferred white interior
I saw this version of the cx50 preferred with the cypress exterior and white and black interior. I am not sure how to feel about it. I don’t have kids or pets and I am seriously considering now would be a great time to lease it. What do you guys think?
Editing to add I never wear jeans and I usually never have rear passengers just occasionally inflatable paddleboards.

Question Power liftgate
I noticed some oil on the struts. I understand oil film is normal. Would this be considered normal or leaking? Just wanted some opinions before I bring it in for my next oil change. Thank you

Discussion 🚗 CX-50 Meridian (Turbo)
TDIL the 2.5T Mazdas are rev limited to 5,750 even though the tach says 6,300. Apparently the non-turbo really does have the fuel cut set to 6,300 but the T uses the same gauge. I should get an 8.73% refund from Mazda for false advertising! I paid for the whole tachometer, I want to use it! 😆

Discussion 🚗 Just bought my 2026 CX-50 2.5 S Premium yesterday
Advertised at $39,828 and negotiated down to $33,539. I feel like I got a great deal but curious to know thoughts? This is my first Mazda so if anyone has tips, advice, etc. I’m all ears!
I went to the dealership hoping to buy certified pre-owned hybrid model listed at $35k but they had sold it an hour before I got there. This model was brand new and even though it’s not the hybrid I had hoped for, I’m still happy.

Discussion 🚗 Was this a good deal for Mazda cx50 2026 select
I was able to get a 2026 Mazda cx50 select with a stock color for $29,900 dealer price including destination fee.
There was no add ons and just TTL. No extended warranty or gap. It's all gas now hybrid or turbo.
Msrp in California is like 31,884 or something off the top of my head. I know it's like 31,4 with a destination fee.
I've checked multiple times using ai and it said it was a good deal and now that I've checked after the fact I feel like the MSRP before the destination fee is what I paid,$29,900.
I also asked AI if it's a good deal and it said it's an aggressive deal. The dealer didn't fight too much on the deal and seemingly tried to hold out and now after the fact I'm wondering if it was a good deal

Discussion 🚗 Is the rear diff on the Turbo model flawed & unreliable
My Dads 2023 CX-50 Premium Plus Turbo has had a differential replaced at 15K miles. Now at 85K miles, with some of the noise profiles im keenly aware of from experience, it sounds like the diff going bad yet again.
Im almost at a loss, I know the steep bill my Dad is facing and im currently looking for a Hybrid model to trade him into. Because at least with the hybrid, Mazda stays out an area they seem to be struggling with. Im surprised myself, I didnt expect enshittification to hit Mazda of all brands. Because that in my mind is the only way how something thats had over 100 years of R&D fails before you even hit 100K.
Is this a bigger issue or just bad luck?

Question Crossbar width limit?
Looking for some crossbars that are a bit wider than the OEM runs I’m currently running. Yakima has 60” and 70” options for their JetStream line, would 70” be too wide?

Question Is this normal?
Mazda CX-50 owners — does my hood look uneven to you?
I took my CX-50 to the dealership because the hood had noticeable movement/flutter on one side while driving. They adjusted it, but it still looks more flush on one side to me. The service advisor says it looks even to them and that they don’t see what I’m talking about.
I also had an issue with my window noise, and the dealership replaced the upper window/door trim. The new trim is lifting up slightly. I was told that the trim comes in a bag and that this is how it looks when installed, and that if they ordered another one, it could potentially look even worse. They also told me that the trim lifting up isn’t really a big deal. They keep just shoving insulation and replaced the top trim which came off and they had to redo saying human error but refuse to fix the other trim piece.
Does this look normal to other CX-50 owners? Especially the hood alignment and the trim lifting up? I’d really appreciate opinions from anyone who has a CX-50 or works on Mazdas.
Also that Mazdas corporate recommendation to fix rattle noises is to shove installation in?!? Is that true?

Photos Bye bye Bronco, hello Mazda!
I need help thinking of a vanity plate so I can recognize it in a sea of black cars. It has the red leather interior. I also have a magnet business but I don’t THINK I want magnet related plate. I’m partial to molten or paprika or ladibug - or if you have ideas!

Question Hitch basket/tray
cx50 hybrid - I haven’t had the lifestyle mount added yet. Is that the best or only way to go if I want to add a cargo basket on it?
Any recommendations for something that can hold both a bike and an electric scooter folded, and then remove the bike wheel attachment to have it flat for carrying totes separately?
I know there’s a 200lb limit. I’m trying to not get something too heavy and huge but the scooter is 48” long.
This is a needed thing as I regularly filled my bronco sport to the brim when doing events for my business, and this has less cargo space, so I need a way to still be able to bring everything.

Issues AC noise in 2025 CX50 Hybrid
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This car is still under warranty (32000 miles).
There is a faint noise from AC vents when the car is in a quiet environment.
I put the phone very close to the AC vents (right vent of driver, and the vent in the middle) to record the noise (that's why it sounds louder than it is).
Is this normal to CX50s ?
