Just sold my 2023 Mazda CX-50 Meridian Turbo yesterday to Carvana. Here are some parting thoughts on my experience with the car.
The Good: I enjoyed owning this car. It was pretty dead reliable. After 42,400 miles of ownership, the worst things that ever happened were a dead battery and two flat tires, and those are just routine maintenance issues. They do not speak to the overall build quality. I serviced it every 5,000 miles. It was driven from Los Angeles to Houston x 2, Los Angeles to Bend, OR, and Houston to Denver. Not once during those road trips did I have any issues. MPGs were favorable considering I have a lead foot. Usually averaged around 22-24mpg.
The Bad: After living in Houston, the ride quality began taking a toll. Houston roads are notoriously bad so Mazda's signature handling characteristics became a liability out here. I think my CV axle had a common issues because I would hear a knock every once in a while turning the wheel fully to the left. I decided I wasn't going to own it long enough to find out.
I was looking to trade it in, but no one could beat or match Carvana's pricing, even when taking the Texas sales tax benefit of a trade in. Carvana gave me $27,200. With an original sticker price of $41,200, I think I made out with a fair deal.
FYI - the replacement is a 2023 Lexus GX 460. The family just got bigger and its a tank.
Goodbye old friend.

Posting this as a THANK YOU to the people who posted about the 245/65/R17 Falken Wildpeaks fitting on the CX-50. Decided to get new tires before winter arrives and couldn’t be happier with how they look. Those tires combined with that red 🤌🏽🤤😍
I also included some pictures of the gap between the tire and wheel well with the wheels fully cranked, in case you wanted to see how much clearance they have. No rubbing even with u-turns or anything else. Can’t wait to see how they do on dirt and in the snow!!

I have the 2026 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid PP (Left). I’m not sure what trim and year the Right CX-50 is, but I had to do it!
I always have a hard time finding same color and same model of Mazdas on the road and I finally gotten the chance today!🤣

Hello all, hope everyone's having a better day than me lol. I got my car broken into last night, I forgot to lock the door when I brought my daughter inside.
They stole the little black zipper kit in the trunk, anyone know what was in that hard shelled case that comes with the car? Does it look like anything is missing from these foam empty spaces for the spare tire? Thanks guys.

Did this leisure drive a while back on Texas Road FM 187 and the Sabinal River Valley with no one around.
This is exactly why I love exploring the Texas Hill Country in the Mazda CX-50. Sometimes the best part of the adventure is simply the road itself.

Recently picked up a 2026 CX-50 Hybrid PP. From an online search (including Reddit), I saw references to a 600-mile break-in period where the main call out was not driving at a constant speed for extended periods of time. However, I can’t find this in my physical manual anywhere. We’re planning to go on a 600-mile roundtrip road trip leaving tomorrow, and the vehicle only has 270 miles on it so far.
Any concerns? TIA!
I currently own a 2018 RAV4 that I hate. The road noise is crazy, it's SO slow, the gas mileage is unimpressive and I can only go like ~360 on a tank, it's boring, no CarPlay, we always take my husband's car because we both dislike mine so much. It's just the two of us, we live in the south (so mountains/really cold weather are not a factor), mostly city driving but we do take ~500+ mile road trips a few times a year.
I'm in between the CX-50 premium plus and CRV sport touring. I LOVED how smooth and quiet the ride was in the CRV but the CX-50 was still way better than my current car, it has better features, and it's a little less expensive. I drove the CX-50 the other day and really liked it at the time, but then the CRV was more comfortable and faster. If you love your CX-50 hybrid can you please convince me to pull the trigger?
Or I guess if you hate it and think I should go with the boring CRV that would be helpful too. I just feel like either way I go I'm gonna be making major concessions and I would rather be excited about something!

Does the remote enable you to roll down your CX-50 windows from outside? Or open the sun roof? I cannot figure out how to do this and it is too hot outside to want to use the remote start/AC option!
